Since 2009 Sven Giegold is member of the European Parliament, spokesperson of the German Green group and coordinator of The Greens/ EFA in the Economic and Monetary Affairs committee. He is Co-founder of the green business centre Ökologischen Zentrums in Verden (Lower Saxony) with 50 jobs created in ecological enterprises and social initiatives, of the Green housing co-operative AllerWohnen eG, a co-initiator of finance watch and the Tax Justice Network.

IT: Creo que la educación superior tiene al menos tres funciones principales en la Agenda 2030: 1. proporcionar a los responsables políticos y a las ONG mediante investigaciones sobre los SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals), y en particular en el SDG4 la cual, como asistente a la tarea inconclusa de la Educación para Todos (EFA), observa los temas de educación actuales y futuros. 2. Enseñar a la próxima generación de graduados para que sean conocedores de la SDG mediante la sensibilización y el desarrollo de las actividades de creación de capacidad en los SGDs en todos los cursos y disciplinas. 3. Proporcionar servicios de extensión con el apoyo de los estudiantes para resolver los problemas específicos de la comunidad local. El mejor camino a seguir sería, en mi opinión, que cada institución de educación superior aportara menos un objetivo en el que tiene experiencia e interés, y desarrollara actividades concretas con su comunidad y más allá.

Le Programme international de la FCE a une longue histoire d’action coopérative et de développement en éducation. Depuis 1962, le secteur du Programme international travaille en partenariat avec des organisations nationales de l’enseignement en Afrique, en Asie, aux Caraïbes et en Amérique latine pour améliorer l’accès à une éducation universelle de qualité et financée par les fonds publics. Il est l’intermédiaire par lequel la FCE donne suite à ses priorités et engagements sociaux au-delà de nos frontières. Avec ses partenaires des pays en développement, il entretient des relations de solidarité et appuie les enseignantes et les enseignants dans leurs efforts pour améliorer l’apprentissage. Par son action, il se fait l’écho du principe de la FCE pour qui l’éducation est à la fois un droit et un bien public, qui devraient être accessibles à tous et à toutes. Pourtant, malgré l’attention internationale que reçoivent les cibles de « L’éducation pour tous et toutes » et les objectifs du Millénaire pour le développement, la réalité reste sombre pour bon nombre des pays partenaires de la Fédération. La plupart des enseignantes et enseignants n’y sont pas formés ou à peine. Les taux d’analphabétisme y sont très élevés. Trop de filles vont à l’école à leurs risques et périls, et finissent par abandonner leurs études. Et si les inscriptions dans les écoles ont augmenté dans de nombreuses régions du monde, l’idée d’une
