Els arguments els podem resumir en tres grans grups: l’escola no serveix per moure’s en el món actual; ensenya com si el coneixement no estigués en el món digital; comença a deixar d’humanitzar i aguditza els seus efectes de selecció social.
The need to change the school system has been on the cards for some time. Perhaps now it has become urgent. The arguments for this can be summarised in three broad groups: schools do not teach students how to function in today’s world; they teach as though knowledge were separate from the digital world; and, increasingly, they no longer humanize students, thus exacerbating the effects of social selection. Nonetheless, it is not easy to reach broad agreements on what to change and how to change it. This article offers four suggestions regarding the foundations that should underpin learning and education today.

Construint coneixement es planteja com una introducció pràctica a la Viquipèdia a partir dels conceptes que es treballen a les altres unitats de la maleta d’Univers Internet com a pretext per ensenyar els alumnes a moure’s per Internet com a usuaris actius i autònoms, analitzant l’eina i iniciant-se en la redacció d’articles enciclopèdics.
Constructing knowledge is a practical introduction to Wikipedia, based on the concepts covered in the other units of the Internet Universe Briefcase. It encourages students to engage with the Internet as active, autonomous users, by analysing the way Wikipedia works and starting to write their own encyclopaedia articles.

Internet és una eina, un mitjà que cal aprendre a utilitzar per extreure’n el major profit i moure-s’hi amb seguretat, però, per damunt de tot, el que és necessari és una educació en valors que ajudi les noves generacions a moure’s de la millor manera possible per la vida, tant la del carrer com la que transcorre a través de la Xarxa.
This anecdote illustrates the basic idea that the Internet Universe Educational Briefcase developed by CCCB Education and CCCB Lab aims to transmit. Yes, the Internet is a tool, a medium that we have to learn to use in order to get the most out of it. But above all, young people have to learn values that can help them to handle themselves as well as possible in life, whether it be life on the streets or online.

Atès el caràcter orgànic d’aquest debat, cada argument a favor o en contra dels indicadors d’un escenari en concret el farà moure al llarg de l’eix; finalment, els que obtinguin una puntuació més alta pel que fa a la innovació i la practicabilitat seran els escollits.
Once all the scenarios selected from each group have had the chance to be briefly presented, with further discussion when needed, is time to apply a method for selecting the ones which are going to be taken further as co-designs. For that, one possible “qualitative” way depending on the number of scenarios (if there’s not so many) is to use again the indicators from the initial session, forming an axis with two of them of positive and negative values. In most cases, in order to balance each scenario and place it in relation to its level of innovation and feasibility for development perceived by participants. As an organic discussion, each argument in support or against these indicators for a given scenario will move it across the axis, where at the end the ones with higher scores in innovation and feasibility whould be the chosen ones.
