Dw i’n nodi presenoldeb Syr Nicholas Serota, Cyfarwyddwr y Tate, ‘y dyn mwya pwerus yn y byd celf’ (Independent 1/11/14). Roedd y tair sioe yn Chapter yn ymdrin â themâu chwyldro, stumio’r cyfryngau, rheoli a thlodi, tra oedden ni, y gynulleidfa, yn fodlon ein byd yn llymeitian rhyw rioja arbenigol cysurus o ddrud.
Artes Mundi 6 for me begins at the ‘free wine, fine guests’ preview reception. I note the presence of Sir Nicholas Serota, Director of the Tate “the most powerful man in the art world” Independent 1/11/14. The three shows at Chapter covered the themes of revolution, media manipulation, control and poverty whilst we the audience, were happily quaffing reassuringly expensive artisan rioja.

Ambell waith gwna benderfyniad ymwybodol i ddinistrio’r ffilm negyddol wreiddiol er mwyn cadarnhau natur ddi-droi’n-ôl amser a’r anallu i ail-greu ennyd neu olygfa. O ganlyniad, bydd yn aml yn gwneud delweddau sydd o ran tymer fel petaent yn ddyledus mewn rhyw ffordd i brosesau creu lluniau’r gorffennol.
He experiments with and manipulates these processes, exploiting the alchemy inherent in chemical photography or changing the elements of timing which makes film the medium of movement. There is a sense of irony behind his work – that a Taiwanese artist should be preoccupied by such traditional methods of creating images. Living in a highly sophisticated technological world, Wu Chi-Tsung takes delight in almost accidentally finding ways to capture or re-imagine the world around him. All his works, whether presented as still or moving images, use time as an integral part of their make-up, not simply through the convention of a shutter opening and closing but through the subversion of time in how the images were made.
