Jean-François LEGER is a chemical engineer, holds a Ph.D. from the University of Geneva and a graduate of the Center for International Studies of Industrial Property of the University of Strasbourg (CEIPI). It is authorized representative before the European Patent Office. He is particularly specialized in the fields of chemistry, related sciences and engineering, as well as trademark law and the settlement of disputes relating to domain names before the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO). Jean-François LEGER is a member and former president of the Association of the Swiss Patent and Trademark Attorneys, he is a member of several other professional associations (FICPI, VESPA, AIPPI, INTA, INGRES, PTMG, LIDC) and was elected as a Swiss representative before the Board of Professional Representatives (EPI), as well as a member of the Executive Committee of FICPI. Finally, it was Judge of the Federal Commission of Appeal in respect of Intellectual Property (1994-2006). Jean LEGER entered the profession in 1973. He is a shareholder and a member of the board of our company.

Ferner werden die Staaten die Fragen des Zugangs zu genetischen Ressourcen und der Aufteilung der Vorteile aus deren Nutzung weiter erörtern. Die Schweizer Delegation wird sich für einen Kompromiss einsetzen. Die bereits vorhandenen Instrumente (Bonner Richtlinien und Internationaler Vertrag über pflanzengenetische Ressourcen für Ernährung und Landwirtschaft) sind rasch umzusetzen. Die Offenlegung der Quelle von genetischen Ressourcen soll überdies durch Bestimmungen gefördert werden, die im Rahmen des Vertrages über internationale Zusammenarbeit auf dem Gebiet des Patentwesens der Weltorganisation für geistiges Eigentum (WIPO) auszuhandeln sind.

België fungeert er als coördinator, spreekbuis en onderhandelaar voor de standpunten die de 31 geïndustrialiseerde lidstaten van WIPO in plenaire vergadering innemen. Het is de eerste keer dat België deze taak op zich neemt.
