En antiguos informes existe incluso un interesante apunte que dice que en el año 1813 de aquí fueron extraídas seis carretadas de hielo para atender a los soldados heridos en la batalla cerca de Lipsia. En la actualidad podemos descender por la escalera hacia una estrecha angostura hasta los lugares desde donde es posible ver en los meses de verano una capa de hielo.

This protected nature monument is currently known under the name of Ledová jáma (Ice Pit). Considering the significant depth of the collapsed sink-hole a special microclimatic regime with only a very imperceptible air circulation was created here. In the summer light warm air stays on the surface and does not descend into the sink-hole. On the contrary, during the winter the hole is cooled down by heavy cold air and thus ice is formed here, which stays at the bottom of the pit even throughout the summer. The relatively high elevation above sea level of the locality also helps keep the year-round temperature at a level below freezing. In old documents an interesting report exists that six wagon-loads of ice were extracted to treat injured soldiers from the Battle of Leipzig in 1813. Nowadays one can climb down steps into a narrow sink-hole up to a point, from where it is possible to see an ice layer even in summer months .

Ledová jáma (la Fosse de glace) est aujourd´hui un monument naturel protégé. En raison de la profondeur de la faille et d’une circulation minimale de l´air, un microclimat s’est créé. En été, l´air chaud et léger reste à la surface et ne descend pas dans la faille. En hiver en revanche, l’air lourd et froid reste dans la faille. La glace créée reste donc au fond de la faille durant l´été. Elle se conserve également à cause de l´altitude du lieu. Dans les témoignages historiques sur la bataille de Leipzig en 1813, on peut lire qu’on y a prélevé six chariots de glace pour soigner les soldats blessés. Actuellement, il est possible de descendre dans l’étroite faille par des escaliers pour y admirer la couche de glace en été.

Heute ist diese Sehenswürdigkeit und Naturschutzgebiet mehr unter der Bezeichnung Eispinge bekannt. Durch die beträchtliche Tiefe der Kluft bilden sich hier besondere klimatische Bedingungen mit geringfügiger Luftzirkulation. Im Sommer bleibt die warme Luft auf der Oberfläche und sinkt nicht in die Kluft. Und umgekehrt im Winter wird die Kluft von der schweren kalten Luft gekühlt, so dass hier Eis entsteht, das am Grund der Kluft auch den Sommer über bestehen bleibt. Auch die Meereshöhe der Lokalität trägt zu diesen Bedingungen bei. In alten Berichten steht eine interessante Notiz, dass im Jahre 1813 sechs Fuhren Eis gefördert wurde, um die verletzten Soldaten aus der Schlacht bei Leipzig zu behandeln. Jetzt kann man die Treppen durch die enge Kluft bis dort heruntersteigen, von wo man auch in der Sommerzeit die Eisschicht sehen kann.

Oggi, questo monumento naturale protetto è conosciuto soprattutto come Fossa di Ghiaccio (Ledová jáma). La significativa profondità della fossa ha creato un particolare microclima con circolazione minima di aria. In estate si mantiene in superficie una leggera aria calda che non scende nella fossa. Al contrario, in inverno, la fossa viene raffreddata da una pesante massa di aria fredda che porta alla creazione di uno strato di ghiaccio, che sul fondo della fossa non si scioglie nemmeno d’estate, fenomeno dovuto anche all’altezza complessiva sul livello del mare di questa località. Un’interessante notizia storica rivela che nel 1813 da qui partirono sei carri pieni di ghiaccio per curare i soldati feriti durante la battaglia nei pressi di Lipsia. Attualmente, una stretta scalinata ci consente di raggiungere un punto da cui è possibile osservare lo strato di ghiaccio anche nei mesi estivi.

Сегодня этот охраняемый памятник природы больше известен под названием Ледовая яма. В связи со значительной глубиной расселины в ней создается особый микроклимат с совершенно незначительной циркуляцией воздуха. Летом легкий теплый воздух остается на поверхности и не опускается в нее, и, наоборот, зимой яму охлаждает тяжелый холодный воздух, поэтому здесь образуется лед, остающийся даже летом. Этому способствует и общая большая высота над уровнем моря. Старые источники содержат интересную запись о том, что в 1813 году отсюда вывезли шесть телег льда для ухода за солдатами, раненными в бою у Лейпцига. В нынешнее время можно сойти по лестнице в узкое ущелье до мест, откуда и летом можно увидеть слой льда.
