Per aver liberato il re, Matěj ottenne un dono dal valore inestimabile: un fischietto da pastore con poteri magici. Al suo fischio, l’ometto gli avrebbe inviato nubi cariche di pioggia che avrebbero reso quei pascoli perennemente floridi per il suo gregge, sul quale egli stesso avrebbe vegliato per sempre.

The old shepherd, Matěj Václavík, from a farm in the village of Vladořice discovered the real reason why the clouds either turned left or right in front of Vladař (as if at a junction) or moved back or forward. One day, when his sheep were grazing on the southern and most fragrant slope of the hill, he heard his sheepdog barking oddly. His "Wolf", as he called the sheepdog due to its wild nature, often caught a hare or some vermin, but when Wolf came back that day, he was carrying a bizarre bearded creature in his jaws. The frightened bearded manikin begged Matěj to save him from the jaws of the beastly dog and promised a kingly reward in return. When Matěj released him, the manikin told him that he was the king of all the farm gnomes in the land and that he lived in a castle under the hill from where he commanded the clouds, thunder and hail. For freeing him, he gave a very special gift to Matěj: a magic shepherd's whistle. If Matěj whistled on it, the gnome king would send him rain clouds so that his herd, which the gnome king would always protect, could graze on juicy pastures. The whistle burnt to ashes a long time ago, but the gnome king still tends the pastures to keep them ready for Matěj's herd.

Le vieux berger Matěj Václavík qui faisait paitre son troupeau à la ferme de Vladořice découvrit la vraie raison du tournoiement et de la circulation des nuages près de Vladař (comme si c’était un carrefour). Une fois, quand il faisait paitre ses moutons sur le versant sud le plus odorant, il entendit son chien de berger aboyer d’une façon étrange. Son chien, surnommé « Loup » pour sa sauvagerie, lui apportait souvent un lièvre ou quelque animal nuisible. Mais ce jour-là il tenait entre ses crocs une créature barbue très bizarre. Ce petit homme barbu effrayé implorait Matěj de le sauver de la gueule de ce chien méchant et lui promettait en échange une récompense royale. Alors Matěj le libéra et le petit homme lui révéla qu’il était le roi de tous les agriculteurs de la région et qu’il avait son château à l’intérieur de la montagne de Vladař d’où il dominait les nuages, les éclairs et la grêle. Enfin, il lui donna un cadeau pour sa libération: un fifre de berger qui avait un pouvoir magique. Si Matěj siffle, il lui envoie un nuage de pluie pour que son troupeau ait toujours un pâturage succulent. Aujourd’hui, le fifre n’existe plus car il a été brûlé mais le petit homme s’occupe tout le temps des bons pâturages pour le troupeau de Matěj.

Der alte Hirte Matěj Václavík, der einst auf dem Gut in Vladořice eine Herde hütete, entdeckte den wahren Grund, warum die Wolken beim Vladař hier abbiegen (wie auf einer Kreuzung), dort zurückkehren, sich anderswo nach vorn bewegen. Eines Tages, als er am südlichen, dem wohlriechendsten Hang des Vladař seine Schafe weidete, hörte er ein seltsames Bellen seines Schäferhundes. Mitunter brachte ihm sein Wolf, wie er ihn wegen seiner Wildheit zu nennen pflegte, einen Hasen oder ein Schadtier. Als Wolf jedoch an jenem Tage zurückkehrte, hielt er zwischen den Zähnen ein seltsames bärtiges Geschöpf, ein kleines Männlein. Der zu Tode erschrockene Bärtige bat Matěj flehentlich, ihn aus den Zähnen dieses bösen Hundes zu befreien, und versprach ihm eine königliche Belohnung. Nachdem Matěj seiner Bitte entsprochen hatte, verriet ihm dieses Männchen, dass er der König aller Landwirte in der Gegend sei, und eine Burg im Innern des Berges Vladař habe, von wo aus er Wolken, Blitz und Hagel beherrsche. Dem Hirten Matěj machte er für seine Befreiung ein wirklich großes Geschenk: eine Hirtenpfeife mit Zauberkraft. Wenn man hineinblies, sendete ihm das Männlein Regenwolken, damit seine Herde, über die er die schützende Hand hielt, stets saftige Weiden hatte. Die Pfeife gibt es längst nicht mehr, doch das Männlein kümmert sich weiter um die saftigen Weiden für die Herden des Matěj.

Un viejo pastor que se llamaba Matěj Václavík, hace tiempo hizo pastar el rebaño de la finca en Vladořice y descubrió la verdadera razón por la que las nubes que se acercan hacia el pico de Vladař cambian de dirección como en un cruce, unas veces retrocediendo, otras adelantándose. Un día estaba pastoreando sus ovejas en la parte meridional más oliente y fresca de Vladař y, de repente, oyó que su perro pastor ladraba de una manera muy rara. El perro se llamaba Lobo (Vlk) por su temible fiereza y no era nada extraño que algunas veces trajera una liebre o una pieza de alimaña. Sin embargo, cuando el Lobo regresó aquel día, traía en la boca una rara criatura peluda. El peludo asustadito le suplicaba a Matěj que le salvara la vida y que le soltara de la boca de este perro tan malo, a cambio le prometió una recompensa generosa. Entonces Matěj le soltó. El hombrecito le reveló que era rey de todos los enanos y duendes de la región y que vivía en su castillo debajo de la montaña Vladař. Desde su castillo mandaba a las nubes, rayos y granizos. Por su salvación le dio un regalo precioso a Matěj: la flauta de pastor que tenía un poder mágico. Siempre que la haga sonar, el hombrecito le mandaría las nubes de lluvia para que su rebaño, que a la vez lo iba a proteger, disponga siempre de pastos frescos. La flauta ha sido quemada ya, pero el hombrecito sigue cuidando de los pastos frescos para el rebaño de Matěj.

Старый пастух Матей Вацлавик, когда-то в старые времена пасший стадо на хуторе в Владоржицах, сумел понять, почему тучи в этом месте отклоняются от Владаржа (как на каком-то перекрестке), и то вернутся, то отправятся вперед. Однажды он пас своих овечек на южном склоне горы, покрытом самой ароматной и сочной травой, и услышал, что его овчарка как-то странно лает. Матей решил, что его Волк, названный им так из-за его опасной дикости, наверное, поймал зайчика. Но когда Волк вернулся, то пастух увидел, что он держит в зубах удивительное бородатое существо. Перепуганный бородач слезно попросил Матея спасти его из пасти этой злой собаки и обещал за это королевскую награду. Матей исполнил его просьбу, и мужичок открыл ему свою тайну: он патрон всех земледельцев этого края, а его крепость находится в подземелье горы Владарж, откуда он управляет тучами, молниями и градом. Старик действительно по-королевски отблагодарил Матея за освобождение: он подарил ему пастушью свирель, обладавшую удивительной силой. Стоит заиграть на ней, и мужик пошлет дождевую тучу, чтобы стадо, над которым он будет держать охранную руку, всегда паслось на пастбище с сочной травой. Свирель уже давно сгорела, но мужичок-хозяйничок до сих пор присматривает за сочными пастбищами Матеева стада.
