From the clothing and general tone of the picture, this work could be dated to around the middle of 1890 and may even be connected with illustrations produced by the artist for contemporary periodicals.

La técnica de aguada con toques de acuarela con que está abordada esta escena denota el perfecto dominio de la técnica de la pintura al agua por parte de García Ramos. En ella combina el minucioso acabado de las figuras con los toques de manchas más líquidas en el primer plano y el fondo para sugerir los reflejos del suelo y la atmosfera cargada del salón. A juzgar por las vestimentas y tono general, podría situarse esta obra hacia mediados de 1890. De hecho podría relacionarse con el tono de algunas de sus ilustraciones para publicaciones periódicas.
