It all started with window frames. De Knegt and his wife wanted to replace the existing aluminium window frames in their home and, at the same time, have double glazing installed upstairs. ‘The house needed to have some work done – a great opportunity to make energy savings’, he explains. But new aluminium window frames turned out to be difficult to find. ‘Through the National Energy Savings Fund, we were informed about the guidelines for sustainability and the technical figures. We used that knowledge to draw up specs for the project, which we then sent to a number of different manufacturers, inviting quotations for the work. It took some time, but luckily we ended up finding a window-frame manufacturer who was able to make the frames after all. And it turned out that they were cheaper with triple glazing than plastic window frames with double glazing. That just goes to show you that a sustainable renovation pays off in all sorts of different ways.’

Le plat parfait pour moi c’est un plat affectif : la soupe Pho. Je suis d’origine vietnamienne et elle a bercée toute mon enfance, mon adolescence et ma vie encore aujourd’hui. Il y a à la fois du bouillon chaud qui te réconforte, des nouilles de riz qui te nourrissent, toutes les saveurs de l’acidité du citron et du piment très salé du bouillon, de la viande crue et cuite, de la viande mixée avec des boulettes, et la fraîcheur des herbes. Après, je me souviendrais toujours du premier déj’ que j’ai fais chez Septime avec mon pote Yué où on a mangé une poitrine de cochon qui était exceptionnelle. De là est née une amitié avec ce chef, on a fait notamment une couverture de magazine avec Yué et Bertrand Grébaut.

Capitala nordică a fost ultima destinației a caravanei auto ”PENTRU VIAȚĂ 2014”. În cele două zile de staționare în acest oraș membrii caravanei au reușit să facă multe lucruri bune și utile, care, sperăm, și-au lăsat amprenta în sufletul și inimile localnicilor și ale membrilor comunității PHS. Pe lângă treningurile organizate, acțiunile de informare, întrunirile cu membrii comunității și ajutorul oferit beneficiarilor aflați în dificultate, orașul Bălți a rămas în memorie prin ceremonia festivă deosebită de decernare a premiului ”Panglica Roșie”. După ceremonie echipa caravanei a mers la o cină de adio, în timpul căreia au fost trasate bilanțurile, au fost analizate plusurile și minusurile caravanei și, desigur, au fost rostite multe cuvinte calde, pline de recunoștință adresate participanților caravanei.

Nach dem Unterricht bei dem Griot besuchte ich mehr als zehn Jahre die Wiesbadener Musik- und Kunstschule, wo ich weitere Trommeln und ganz unterschiedliche Stile lernen konnte. In den acht Jahren, seit denen ich in der Schweiz lebe, spiele ich aber weniger Handtrommeln sondern mehr Hang. Und zwar, weil ich in meiner Wohnung unmöglich auf lauten Perkussionsinstrumenten üben kann. Thomas: Die Hang ist ein sehr spezielles Instrument. Wie kamst du dazu?
