Immediately following, there will be a discussion with Edoardo Ballerini (an actor of Italian origin and lead actor The Boardwalk Empire, The Sopranos, I Shot Andy Warhol and reader of the poem “Forgive Me” for Gabriele Tinti), the directors Michele Civetta and Robert Conticelli (that filmed some of the movies mentioned), the translator Nicholas Benson (translator of Italian classics such as, Palazzeschi, Foscolo, Bertolucci, Mario Luzi, Caproni Antonia Pozzi. For his work of translation on L’Incendario of Palazzeschi, Benson received the prestigious NEA Translation Fellowship).

Canti, pugili, ferite è un evento che vedrà il reading dello scrittore italiano Gabriele Tinti, il quale leggerà le sue poesie sul pugilato e presenterà i poetry films che sui suoi testi sono stati realizzati. A seguire ci sarà una discussione con Edoardo Ballerini (attore di origini italiane protagonista in The Boardwalk Empire, The Sopranos, I shot Andy Warhol e lettore per Tinti della poesia “Forgive me”), i registi Michele Civetta e Robert Conticelli (che hanno girato alcuni dei films in oggetto) e il traduttore Nicholas Benson (traduttore negli USA dei classici italiani come Palazzeschi, Foscolo, Bertolucci, Mario Luzi, Caproni, Antonia Pozzi. Per il suo lavoro di traduzione de L’Incendiario di Palazzeschi, Benson ha ricevuto il prestigioso NEA Translation Fellowship). All'evento presenzieranno alcuni pugili italoamericani come Paulie Malignaggi (ex campione del mondo dei pesi welter e commentatore per Showtime), Vito Antuofermo (ex campione del mondo dei pesi medi e attore) e Vinny Maddalone (pugile italoamericano). Milo de Angelis Gabriele Tinti, an Italian poet and writer, has published New York Shots (Allemandi&C., 2011), The Way of the Cross (Allemandi&C., 2012), both collaborations with the actor Michael Imperioli, and All Over (Mimesis Edizioni, 2013). His books have been presented in many museums, including the Queens Museum of Art and the Bronx Museum of the Arts in NYC, the Triennale in Milan, the MACRO in Rome, and the Boston Center for the Arts, and have been acquired for the collections of major international poetry centers, such as Poets House of NYC, the Poetry Center of Tucson, The Poetry Foundation, Chicago, The Poetry Collection, Buffalo, and the Poetry Library of the South Bank Centre in London. His poems have been performed by actors like Michael Imperioli, Burt Young, Alessandro Haber, and Franco Nero
