In 2003, the UN Secretary General, Kofi Annan, appointed Enrique Iglesias member of the High Level Commission to assess threats to peace and global security, as well as UN reform. In 2005, Annan once again counted on Iglesias as a world expert for the High Level Group of Civilizations Alliance, an initiative of Spanish Prime Minister Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero and Prime Minister of Turkey,  Racip Eyep Erdogan.

En 2003, el Secretario General de la ONU, Kofi Annan, nombró a Enrique Iglesias miembro de la Comisión de Alto Nivel para evaluar las amenazas a la paz y a la seguridad mundial, así como la reforma de la ONU. En 2005, Annan volvió a contar con Iglesias como experto mundial para el Grupo de Alto Nivel de la Alianza de Civilizaciones, una iniciativa del Presidente del Gobierno español, José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero y del Primer Ministro de Turquía, Racip Eyep Erdogan.
