A radiation dose from tritium is like a radiation dose from any other type of radiation, including natural background radiation and doses received during medical procedures. In Canada, members of the public receive annual doses of radiation from tritium of 0.0001 to 0.013 millisieverts (mSv), although very few, if any, members of the public receive doses in the upper end of this range.
