Während der Sommermonate 2001 unternahmen wir verschiedene Aktionen gegen die religiöse Verfolgung, u.a. die Vertreibung von 12.000 buddhistischen Nonnen und Mönchen aus ihren Klöstern in Tibet. Westliche Öl- und Erdgaskonzerne, die in Singkiang und Tibet investieren, weisen wir derzeit auf ihre Mitverantwortung für die Massenexekutionen von Uiguren und die Vertreibungen der Tibeter hin. Nach den Terroranschlägen in den USA hat China seine Mitarbeit in der globalen Anti-Terror-Koalition angeboten. Die USA äußerten sich zufrieden über erste Konsultationen mit chinesischen Sicherheitsexperten. Für die Kooperation wird jedoch eine Gegenleistung erwartet. Nach Jahren massiver Kritik des Westens an Menschenrechtsverletzungen in China, müsse die Weltöffentlichkeit nun endlich verstehen, wie wichtig die Terrorismusbekämpfung im Reich der Mitte sei, argumentieren die Machthaber in Peking. Als Terroristen sieht Chinas Führung auch die breite Mehrheit der friedlich für die Erhaltung ihrer Kultur und Religion eintretenden muslimischen Uiguren und buddhistischen Tibeter. Die Lage der Menschenrechte im chinesischen Herrschaftsbereich ist katastrophaler als je zuvor in den letzten 30 Jahren. In China werden mehr Menschen zum Tode verurteilt als insgesamt in allen anderen Ländern der Welt. Allein seit April 2001 wurden bereits mehr als 1.800 Menschen hingerichtet. Wer demokratische Parteien aufbaut oder Meinungsfreiheit im Internet praktizieren möchte, muss mit langjährigen Haftstrafen rechnen. Allein in den letzten Monaten wurden mehr als 8.000 Internet-Cafés von den Behörden geschlossen.

From the XVI century the "paleocristiana" church was remarkablly restructured by the work of the architects Francisco Grimaldi and G.B. Cavagna. The inside, Latin cross with three is naves and side aisles. On the dome vault we can admire some frescos by Massimo Stanzione, representing the life of the apostles Peter and Paul. Wonderful frescoes by Solimena in the sagrestia, with scenes of the "Conversione di San Paolo", "La caduta di Simon Mago" and the "Virtù". In 1671, by plan of Dionisio Lazzari, the prospect of the Basilica, that encloses two of the original columns of "corinzio" order, was widened.

In 1443, the construction of the new town started according to the strict designs of Juraj Dalmatinac, Renaissance sculptor and architect. It ended two centuries later. There is the parish Church of the Assumption on the main town’s square. This church is a valuable cultural and art monument because of its exterior and interior architectural solutions, as well as the exhibits. The town abounds in beautifully carved doorposts on the entrances of the noblemen’s houses and yards, small baroque balconies, stone coats of arms from the period 15th - 18th century and a magnificent portal on the Duke’s palace. This well-preserved mediaeval town, whose center is the cultural monument, even today performs the function of the administrative, cultural and mercantile center. The Benedictine convent of St. Margarita, besides numerous valuable sacral relics and pictures, cherishes also the tradition of making “baškotini”, the aromatic crunchy biscuits that are offered at the entrance of the convent.

Mit dem Aufbau der neuen Stadt wurde streng nach den Skizzen des kroatischen Renaissancebildhauers Juraj Dalmatinac im Jahre 1443 begonnen und dieser wurde nach zwei Jahrhunderten abgeschlossen. Auf dem Hauptplatz befindet sich die Pfarrkirche der Mariä Himmelfahrt, die wegen ihrer inneren und äusseren architektonischen Schönheiten und Ausstellungsstücken ein sehr wertvolles Kulturmonument ist. Überall in der Stadt kann man außer schön gemeißelten Pfosten an den Eingängen der adeligen Häuser und Höfe auch Barockbalkons, Steinwappen aus dem 15./ 16. Jh. und das majestätische Portal auf dem Fürstenhof sehen. Diese gut erhaltene mittelalterliche Stadt, deren Kern ein Kulturmonument bildet, hat auch heute noch eine administrativische, kulturelle und wirtschaftliche Funktion.

Koncem středověku utrpěl Pag v bojích se Zadarem obrovské ztráty. Obyvatelé se shodli, že nebudou opravovat staré zničené město, ale vybudují na sousední lokalitě město nové. Byl to počin ve své době a v této oblasti neobvyklý a progresivní. Pag začal od r.1443 stavět podle svých v té době velmi moderních plánů největší gotický sochař stavitel v přímoří Juraj Dalmatinac. Město se začalo budovat jako gotické, ale během výstavby přibývalo renesančních prvků. Síť pravidelných rovnoběžných ulic protínaly kolmice druhých komunikací, náměstí tvořily pravidelné obdélníky nebo čtverce.

A benediktánus n?vérek kolostora, számos értékes templomi ereklye és kép mellett, az aromatikus kétszers?lt elkészítési hagyományát is ?rzi, amelyet a kolostor bejáratánál kínálnak.

Na rynku centralnym znajduje się kościół parafialny pod wezwaniem Najświętszej Marii Panny. Jest to, co się tyczy zewnętrznych i wewnętrznych rozwiązań, jak i eksponatów, bardzo cenny pomnik kulturowo-artystyczny. Tradycja ich przygotowania pilnuje się w tym klastorze.

Dunedin heeft een mooie, ongerepte Edwardiaanse en Victoriaanse architectuur, gebouwd van de rijkdom van de Gold Rushes. Quando i conquistatori spagnoli arrivarono a ciò che oggi sono le provincie di Guayas e Manabi sulla costa ecuadoriana, videro negli indigeni del posto l'impiego dei cappelli di paglia che coprivano sia il collo che le orecchie. Sumanahilli respects everyone’s competence and right to self-determination.  Clients become members of the family and involved in planning, implementation and evaluation.  Our Karnataka Leprosy Welfare Association serves patients from all over the State of Karnataka and is a member of the Karnataka Network of People Positive for HIV.  Residents and former clients are part of the decision making process and are involved at every level of our work.

En el transcurso de veinticinco años, los Claretianos han ido aumentando continuamente su compromiso con Sumanahalli. En el año 1988, el P. Njayarkulam sirvió sólo a tiempo parcial. En 1992, el P. Pedro D'Souza pasó a residir en el campus como director a tiempo completo. Cuando las organizaciones dejaron de financiar el programa, recayó sobre el P. James   Mundackal solucionar la crisis. Más tarde el P. José Thempill amplió el servicio y ministerio de Sumanahalli a las personas afectadas por el VIH-SIDA.

Para nuestro trabajo, la asistencia técnica y la búsqueda de fondos Sumanahalli colabora con el gobierno de la India, así como con organizaciones no gubernamentales ,  entre las que se incluyen grupos tales como la AIFO, una Onlus de la Conferencia Episcopal Italiana; Enfance Espoir, Asociación Raoul Follereau y el MEP (Francia); Wilde Ganzen (Países Bajos); Ecosol, Aneswad, Intermon Oxfax, Manos Unidas y La Caixa (España); Starfish, The Leprosy Mission, World Exchange, Serve, SCIAF, Liittle Way Association, y la Fundación Janeve (Reino Unido).

Anche il Vaticano, nella sua rete di preti, suore, conventi e comunita' religiose sparse in ogni angolo della terra, e' uno Stato che e' molto informato sulle cose del mondo. Non lo fa con una propria struttura di intelligence, ma con il Segretariato di Stato per le relazioni con gli altri Stati (alias il Ministero degli esteri) che ha una fitta rete di nunzi apostolici che rappresentano la Santa Sede.

The Vatican, with its network of priests, nuns, convents and religious communities scattered in every corner of the world, is also a very well-informed State. It doesn't use an intelligence structure but the Secretariat for Foreign Relations, or rather the Secretariat of State (aka Foreign Ministry) has a complex network of apostolic Nuncios that represent the Holy See. The Nuncio is the ambassador of the Vatican and as such has the need to access all of the news that are of interest to his country (which coincides with his Institution). He doesn't need sources, the churches suffice in that respect. The parishes, the episcopates and arch-episcopates, the religious communities, the followers...

Le canton de Nidwald constitue un véritable paradis pour les amateurs de nature. Parmi les infinies possibilités d’excursion dans les montagnes, on ne souffre que de l’embarras du choix. A Niederrickenbach, par exemple, on a l’impression d’avoir laissé derrière soi la frénésie du monde moderne. Accessible en quelques minutes de télécabine depuis Dallenwil, cet alpage situé à 1162 mètres d’altitude domine la vallée d’Engelberg. Outre la splendide église de Maria-Rickenbach, qui attire les pèlerins depuis des siècles, il abrite un couvent bénédictin encore habité par un groupe de nonnes spécialisées dans l’élaboration de produits à base d’herbes qu’elles vendent dans une échoppe. Ce havre de paix absolue est un point de départ idéal pour de longues balades ou, en hiver, pour des randonnées en raquettes à neige. En bref, l’endroit parfait pour recharger les batteries, en plein coeur de la Suisse.

Wer auf der A2 zwischen dem Seelisberg-Tunnel und Stans unterwegs ist und sich eine Pause gönnen möchte, sollte die Ausfahrt Beckenried nehmen und bis zum Bootshafen in Rütenen fahren. Hier kann man das Auto parkieren, hier beginnt auch ein Wanderweg, der unterhalb des riesigen Autoviadukts verläuft. Nach zehn Minuten gelangt man zu einem Kiesstrand mit einem winzigen Naturhafen. Dahinter erhebt sich eine imposante, steile und vom Zahn der Zeit und des Wetters polierte Felswand. Vor Abermillionen Jahren war dies ein Teil einer Hochebene, auf der Dinosaurier herumliefen, wie die dort gefundenen (Fuss-)Abdrücke bezeugen. Der Weg führt anschliessend über Stufen auf den Grat hoch. Dann plötzlich wird die Stille des Waldes durch ein mächtiges Getöse durchbrochen. Noch einige Schritte und der Blick wird frei auf einen gewaltigen Wasserfall, der aus der Risletenschlucht in seiner ganzen Wildheit herabstürzt.

The annual global yield of this wool is approx. 5,000 tons, and in addition to being very expensive, it also requires special care. Can you wash cashmere in the washing machine? You sure can, and it is precisely those who invented the washing machine who told me that it is possible: Miele. Well, you will be wondering how to wash it. I’ll tell you. The water should never exceed 30° C (86° F) and the garments should be washed with a detergent for woollens. This has a neutral to weak pH value, which prevents the fibers from deflating like your soufflé after opening the oven at the wrong moment. Miele suggests liquid detergent for delicates WoolCare that contains components that protect the fibers and keep the colors intact. Remember that cashmere garments should be rinsed several times in cold water because any detergent residue can destroy the fibers, exactly as you did with the relationship with your mother-in-law. Also, be careful never to hang cashmere garments on a radiator to dry, or outside in the cold winter air, you may have to say bye bye to your pullover in a thousandth of a second, as you did to your beliefes when in kindergarten the nuns told you that Santa Claus does not exist. How should you dry it then? Place it without fear in your Miele tumble dryer and select the program “Woollens handcare”. It will leave your pullovers soft and fluffy after drying.  Suddenly everyone will want to hug you, kiss you, love you, marry you. Because a wool like yours is difficult to find anywhere else.
