Canada's National War Memorial, unveiled in 1939 by King George VI and Queen Elizabeth, is located at Confederation Square in Ottawa. Designed by Vernon March, it took 13 years to build. Twenty-two figures representing the infantry, artillery, air force, nurses, cavalry, support services, forestry, and navy march through a triumphal arch. Allegorical figures represent peace and freedom at its apex. Originally built to honour the sacrifices of those who served in the First World War, in 1982 the dates for the Second World War and the Korean War were added. In 2000, the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier was added to the base of the memorial. This site hosts Canada's national Remembrance Day ceremony each 11 November.

I am satisfied that it is untrue and that any intelligent adult would reject it as wholly untrustworthy. Moreover, the trial Judge was well aware of the weaknesses in the testimony of Ford and Twaddell. He had not found them to be honourable, upright witnesses but he accepted testimony which they gave because it was consistent with, and in harmony with, other testimony placed before him. He found the testimony, not the witnesses, to be credible. In my opinion the tendered evidence if adduced before the trial Judge or other tribunal of fact could not possibly affect the verdict. This view is in accord with the decision of this Court in R. v. Stewart (1972), 8 C.C.C. (2d) 137.

Twenty years after independence, Moldova is still grappling with the effects of intensive agriculture production under the former Soviet Union. In the 1970s, large quantities of fertilizers, pesticides and dangerous chemicals were used on Moldovan soil to maximise crop yields. Although their use is now prohibited, large quantities of these pesticides are still stored around the country, including over 3000 tonnes in 450 poorly equipped facilities. A NATO-sponsored project is helping to address this lingering problem.

BAAR, Schweiz, 19. März 2013 - Veeam Software erweitert sein Partnerprogramm für Cloud-Service-Provider um ein zusätzliches Lizenzmodell. Das Veeam Cloud Provider (VCP) Programm beinhaltet künftig die Option, Veeam-Lösungen auf Basis einer Mindestlizenzmenge in einem Jahr auf Monatsbasis zu lizenzieren. Mit Hilfe dieses Lizenzierungsmodells können Hosting-Anbieter, Telekommunikationsunternehmen und Cloud Service Provider künftig einen zu ihrem Service-Modell passenden Lizenzvertrag mit Veeam schließen.


Veeam verhilft mehr als 1.200 VCP-Partnern in der EMEA-Region zu Erfolgen beim Verkauf von Lizenzen auf Mietbasis, wobei die Abrechnung pro VM erfolgt. Die EMEA-Region ist mittlerweile vollständig von einem Netzwerk aus Distributoren und Aggregatoren abgedeckt, die Veeam Mietlizenzverträge anbieten. Dies belegt das große Interesse der Partner sowie Veeams Investition in die Förderung dieses schnell wachsenden Marktes.


Die neuen Vorteile des VCP-Programms in der 2013er Auflage:

  • Mietlizenz mit Mindestvolumen: Zugeschnitten auf mittlere und große Hosting-Anbieter basiert dieses neue Lizenzmodell auf einem monatlichen Mindest-Volumenaufkommen für eine oder mehrere Veeam-Lösungen über einen Zeitraum von einem Jahr.
  • Zusätzliche Rabatte: Abhängig vom vereinbarten Engagement können VCP-Partner von zusätzlichen Rabatten und der Unterstützung lokaler Marketing- und Sales-Initiativen profitieren.

Secondo Gartner, entro il 2016 un terzo delle aziende cambierà il proprio vendor di backup a causa di problemi a livello di costi, complessità o capacità1. Allo stesso tempo, i report evidenziano che la virtualizzazione del server ha ormai coinvolto oltre il 60% delle aziende e sta per raggiungerne l’80%2. Veeam Modern Data Protection – una soluzione specifica per la virtualizzazione (Built for VirtualizationTM) potente, economica e facile da utilizzare – si colloca fra questi due trend del settore.


La maggior parte degli strumenti di backup è stata sviluppata per un ambiente fisico e questo influenza e limita il supporto che tali strumenti possono fornire agli ambienti virtuali. Avnet TS, leidend distributeur van computerproducten, -software en -diensten, breidt haar assortiment uit met de producten van Veeam Software, leverancier van back-up-, replicatie- en virtualisatiebeheeroplossingen voor VMware vSphere® en Windows Server Hyper-V. Door het aanbieden van Veeam-oplossingen is Avnet in staat haar positie binnen zowel de storage- en virtualisatiemarkt als het MKB-segment te versterken.


“De storage- en virtualisatiemarkt groeit nog steeds, waardoor ook de behoefte aan de beschikbaarheid en efficiënt beheer van data toeneemt”, aldus Kees Ruiters, Sales Director Benelux bij Avnet TS. ”We zien een groeiende vraag vanuit de markt naar software die deze beschikbaarheid garandeert. Veeam komt met haar oplossingen tegemoet aan deze marktbehoefte. Vanuit onze software-unit zal de focus komend jaar liggen op het aanbieden van value added softwareoplossingen voor onder andere de virtualisatiemarkt. Daarnaast richt Avnet TS zich op vendoren als EMC, F5 Networks, HDS, HP, IBM, Juniper, Microsoft, NetApp en Oracle. Gezien de samenwerkingen tussen Veeam en deze partijen zijn we in staat gezamenlijk op te trekken richting deze markten en mooie combinaties te maken voor het MKB.”


Ook Veeam Software is verheugd over de samenwerking met Avnet. “Avnet heeft de afgelopen jaren een zeer sterke storage community opgebouwd”, vertelt Lodewijk van Klaveren, Manager Channels Benelux bij Veeam Software. “Daarnaast heeft het bedrijf een sterke positie als het gaat om de distributie van HP-producten. Vanwege de samenwerking tussen Veeam en HP zien we ook op dit gebied mogelijkheden om de krachten te bundelen.
