La tortue imbriquée, menacée de disparition, vit des récifs coralliens, tandis que la tortue verte, également en voie d'extinction, se nourrit d'algues marines et contribue à maintenir le fond marin sain et productif. Dans le cadre du programme de préservation des tortues de mer, le complexe hôtelier travaille avec les communautés des Maldives pour les sensibiliser à la conservation des tortues et protéger les nids des braconniers. Ce projet donne également aux tortues vertes menacées de disparition une longueur d'avance grâce à l'élevage d'un certain nombre de bébés tortues issus de nids protégés, et ce pendant 15 mois, afin d'améliorer leurs chances de survie dans la nature. Au cours des neuf premiers mois, les tortues sont conservées dans des bassins sur terre, avant d'être déplacées dans des enceintes plus vastes dans le lagon, où elles commenceront à chercher des algues pour se nourrir et à s'adapter à la nature. Les hôtes peuvent participer quotidiennement à des séances d'alimentation des tortues pour en savoir plus sur les résidents les plus fragiles de Kuda Huraa.

Die stark gefährdete echte Karettschildkröte lebt auf Korallenriffen, die gefährdete Suppenschildkröte ernährt sich von Seegras, sodass der Meeresgrund gesund und produktiv bleibt. Das Maldivian Sea Turtle Conservation Program des Resorts arbeitet mit den Bewohnern der Malediven zusammen, um das Bewusstsein für den Schutz der Meeresschildkröten zu fördern und die Nester vor Räubern zu schützen. Das Projekt ermöglicht der gefährdeten Suppenschildkröte einen guten Start ins Leben, indem eine ausgewählte Anzahl von Jungen bis zu 15 Monate lang in Nestern geschützt werden, um ihre Überlebenschance in der Wildnis zu erhöhen. Die ersten neun Monate lang werden sie in Pools an Land gehalten, bevor sie in größere Gehege in der Lagune umgesiedelt werden, wo sie damit beginnen, sich selbst mit Seegras zu ernähren und sich so an die Wildnis anzupassen. Gäste können der täglichen Fütterung der Schildkröten beiwohnen, um mehr über die empfindlichen kleinen Bewohner von Kuda Huraa zu erfahren.
Compare text pagesCompare HTM pagesOpen source URLOpen target URLDefine fourseasons.com as primary domain	تعيش خمسة أنواع من أصل سبعة أنوع السلاحف البحرية بالعالم داخل جزر المالديف ومن الممكن رؤية اثنين منهم بشكل منتظم. وتعيش السلحفاة صقرية المنقار المهددة بالانقراض على الشعاب المرجانية بينما تتغذى السلحفاة الخضراء المهددة بالانقراض كذلك على الأعشاب البحرية مما يحافظ على بقاء قاع البحر في حالة جيدة. هذا ويعمل برنامج المحافظة على السلاحف في بحر المالديف مع المجتمعات التي تعيش على الجزر في جميع أنحاء جزر المالديف على زيادة الوعي للمحافظة على السلاحف وحماية الأعشاش من الصيادين. كذلك يمنح المشروع السلاحف الخضراء المهددة بالانقراض أفضلية للعيش عن طريق تربية عدد معين من الصغار في أعشاش محمية لمدة تزيد عن 15 شهرًا لتحسين فرصتهم في البقاء وسط الحياة البرية. حيث تعيش السلاحف خلال التسعة أشهر الأولى في أحواض سباحة قبل نقلهم إلى منطقة أكبر في البحيرة حيث يبدؤون في التغذي على الأعشاب البحرية وتكييف أنفسهم على العيش في الحياة البرية. يستطيع النزلاء حضور جلسات يومية تتعلق بإطعام السلاحف ليتعرفوا على المزيد حول أرق الكائنات الصغيرة التي تعيش في مدينة كودا هورا.

Per il 2011 viene segnalato un ulteriore regresso: 41.500 piante colpite su 1.150 ha (sup.ridotta 214 ha) e 93.000 nidi stimati.
