Technical clothes of quality, resistant yet comfortable. This is the mission of Slam, the company which, since 1979, has united a group of young helmsmen who have turned their passion for sailing into an important business, designing and producing technical clothing to keep all sailors comfortable. Slam is quality and research. In 1980, only a year after opening, Slam launches Mickey Bear, a fleecy fabric which is warming and water repellent at the same time, ideal for facing the high seas without the worry of water and humidity. A waterproof fleece which appears revolutionary compared to the wool and cotton used until the end of the 80s. Slam also fathered the waterproof jacket, indestructible and functional, inspired by the classical oilskins. We are talking of the famous Slam Jacket of 1984. Labelled Slam is also the sailing jacket called just sailing in the sector, and the High Seas System, consisting of dungarees, waistcoat and oilskin jacket. Since the 80s Slam has gone a long way in perfecting the production of waterproof fabrics, comfortable, practical and warm for sailors of any generation. In 2010, winning the 33rd American Cup aboard the trimaran BMW ORACLE Racing, the company had the occasion of showing the world their new line of spectacles and sunglasses. Slam’s latest novelty for sailors is their collection of ultralight products, including the famous BLOW Jacket, warm as a quilt, soft and above all, light, to wear when the thermometer rises no farther than 20°, or when the mercury column drops below zero. Slam, a comfortable solution for sailors of every season and all ages.
