Einer der FORMOSA-Arbeiter war an der täglichen Kontrolle und Erfassung der Vinylchlorid-Lecks in der PVC-Anlage beteiligt. Die zulässige Sicherheitsgrenze für die Aufnahme von Vinylchlroid für Arbeiter in einer Fabrik liegt bei einem Teil pro Million (1 ppm) innerhalb von acht Stunden. Die Vinyl-Lecks rund um die PVC-Anlage haben die Größenordnung von 1.2 bis 7 bis 13 bis 35 bis 177 bis 987 bis 6.000 ppm. Und das in jeder Stunde an jedem Tag in jedem Jahr. Und der Arbeiter arbeitete dort seit 25 Jahren. Ein anderes Mal wurde EDC (Ethynoldichlorid) irrtümlich in die PVC-Anlage geleitet und die Arbeiter wateten drei Tage durch den Giftnebel, geschützt mit nichts außer Gummistiefeln und Gummihandschuhen. Wieder ein anderes Mal war die Produktionsleitung von Vinylchlroid mit der Trinkwasserleitung gekoppelt, so dass die Arbeiter mit Vinylchlorid vergiftetes Wasser tranken. Schluss war es dann für diesen Arbeiter, als er auf Anweisung seines Vorgesetzten einen Bericht über einen vier-Tonnen-Vinylchlorid-Unfall derart fälschen sollte, dass die Firma lediglich das Austreten von 2,79 Pfund an die EPA melden konnte.

Au moment de la réunion proposée, nous étudiions un partenariat.
