We shall fund a greater number, but not the very large-scale projects of the municipalities, so that they could be realized in a maximally simplified regime, without procedures under the Public Procurement Act. This was said by the Head of the Managing Authority of Operational Programme Administrative Capacity Monika Dimitrova-Beecher at the opening of the first of the several information days for this call that are going to continue from today to the 19th of October. There is a huge interest to the new call by the municipal administrations under sub-priority 2.2 “Competent and effective public administration.” Almost 70 experts from the local administrations were present at the event in Sofia. We are referring to this call for proposals as the “big-small call” under OPAC, because we are able to grant 20 million BGN for projects of the municipalities, but because of their request, the minimal threshold of the eligible projects is 20,000 BGN, while the maximal is 90,000 BGN. Thus they will be able to realize them independently, with their own capacity. The term for realization of the activities under the projects is 12 months. The goal is to increase the qualification of the employees in the local administration through training courses in the country, which is going to lead to a better servicing of the citizens and the businesses. Examples for the training courses that can be funded through these projects are foreign language lessons, training how to work with Word, training of employees how to work with specific target groups such as illiterate people, people with hearing impairments and speaking disorders, etc.
