„Der Weinbau ist ein sehr wichtiger Teil des kulturellen Erbes der Ungarndeutschen, unsere Ahnen brachten im 18-19. Jahrhundert diese Kenntnisse von der Rhein-, Mosel-Gegend, oder eben aus Württemberg mit sich, aber auch die Deutschen um Ödenburg, um Güns bauen seit Jahrhunderten Wein an. Eben deshalb unterstützt die Landesselbstverwaltung diese Veranstaltung sehr gerne, und ich freue mich, dazu beigetragen zu haben, dass daraus ein landesweiter Wettbewerb geworden ist, denn es beteiligen sich Kleinhersteller und berühmte große Winzereien von Ödenburg über Moor bis zur Hajosch-Bajaer Weinregion. Hier wetteifern kleine Familienunternehmen mit Weinbetrieben von internationalem Ruf, und das ist, glaube ich, die Besonderheit dieses Wettstreits. Und es kann durchaus vorkommen, dass hier der Amateur den Profi besiegt.“

A jónak minősült borok címkéin a jövőben megjelenhet a magyarországi német borversenyen történt sikeres szereplést igazoló logó, amely immár országosan is elismerést jelent. A versenyre egyébként nem kizárólag a hazai németséghez köthető termelők nevezhettek, bár a jó nevű borászok között sok a német nemzetiségi. A megmérettetés neve sokkal inkább a szervezők közösségére, illetve a német nemzetiség generációról generációra hagyományozott gazdag borkultúrájára utal. Hetényi János maga is büszke arra, hogy a hazai németség időtálló tudással és fortélyokkal gazdagította évszázadokon át a magyarországi szőlő- és bortermelést. A főszervező mindemellett azt mondja, a borverseny megrendezésében is jócskán érezhető volt a „sváb” precizitás: a 140 főt számláló borbaráti társaság apraja-nagyja kivette részét a megvalósításból, és a Magyarországi Németek Országos Önkormányzata (MNOÖ) is nagyban hozzájárult ahhoz, hogy idén ismét országos szintű és magas színvonalú lehessen a megmérettetés: – Jó a mecseknádasdiakkal dolgozni, rendkívül korrekt, lelkes és nagyon profi a csapat – véli Heinek Ottó, az MNOÖ elnöke. – A szőlőművelés, a bortermelés szerves része a németség kulturális örökségének, őseink a 18-19. században a Rajna, a Mosel vidékéről vagy éppen Württembergből hozták magukkal ezt a tudást, de a Sopron, Kőszeg környéki németek is évszázadok óta termelnek bort. Az országos önkormányzat éppen ezért szívesen adja a nevét és a támogatását ehhez a borversenyhez és örülök, hogy sikerült hozzájárulnunk a verseny országossá válásához, hisz ma már Soprontól Móron át a Hajós-Bajai Borvidékig neveznek rá kistermelők és ismert borászatok is. Talán éppen az utóbbi adja ennek a versenynek a különlegességét: itt együtt mérettetik meg a kis családi pincészet és a nemzetközi hírű borgazdaság, és bizony előfordul, hogy a pontversenyben az amatőr legyőzi a profit.

The Leonardo exhibition, organised by Dr. Cornelia Syre, Veronika Poll-Frommel, Jan Schmidt and PD Dr. Heike Stege was part of the 28th Council of Europe art exhibition Universal Leonardo and was generously funded by the Ernst von Siemens Art Foundation. A catalogue was published by the Schirmer/Mosel publishing house.

For this purpose, the barrages are equipped with adjustable weirs. The resulting adjustable discharge into the next river reach enables the use of automatic water level control. With rising water discharge, the water level has to be adjusted. Additionally, a steady discharge into the next river reach is desirable to reduce inflow fluctuations or fully prevent them.

The beginning of modern aquaculture in Europe is closely linked to the name Stephan Ludwig Jacobi (1711 - 1784), who came up with the idea of taking eggs and sperm from spawning adult fish, mixing them with each other and then letting them develop – which is how artificial reproduction was born. However, his attempts were pretty-much forgotten and not resumed until almost a century later in 1840 in the Moselle region, which at that time belonged to France. This is where the first state trout farm was then started in Hüningen in today’s Alsace in 1854. This later became the Imperial fish farm, then under German direction. Not only trout but also salmon, vendace and carp were produced on a large scale in order to be sold either to fish farmers or to be released in inland waters, which at that time were already frequently blocked for migratory fish such as salmon and eels. As a result, "artificial trout farming" developed throughout Europe, especially after the introduction of rainbow trout, which originally came from North America. Nevertheless, only a few species were successfully bred and reared up into the 1970s.

A methodical instrument will be made available in order to estimate the effect of the decentralized flood reduction measures, which can be deployed in various sizes of basin. This includes the formulation of flood discharge scenarios for various water levels in the Moselle and Rhine, devised with a view to the various hydro meteorological conditions and selected decentralized flood prevention measures. Estimation of the highest possible discharge will also play a role here.
