V některých studiích již byla konceptualizace udržování míru coby mezinárodního režimu provedena či alespoň naznačena, nicméně dosud nebyly důsledně identifikovány jednotlivé dimenze tohoto režimu. Za využití konceptu Stephena Krasnera, který definuje režimy jako „principy, normy, pravidla a rozhodovací procesy, kolem kterých se sbíhají očekávání aktérů v dané oblasti mezinárodních vztahů“, proto článek identifikuje a charakterizuje dílčí dimenze režimu udržování míru OSN.

Une initiative diplomatique peut également persuader l’armée du Soudan du Sud et d’autres organes de sécurité nationale que l’administration par l’ONU/UA est une alternative moins mauvaise qu’une intervention militaire directe, la division du pays en sphères d’influence par l’Éthiopie, le Soudan et l’Ouganda, ce qui de fait résulterait en une perte de la souveraineté pour une durée indéterminée. De nombreux chefs militaires sud-soudanais profiteraient de la pause offerte par une présence internationale pour restructurer et professionnaliser leurs forces fracturées. Parallèlement, le poids politique des groupes ethniques non-Dinka qui ont été aliénés par les mesures du gouvernement qui favorisent à leurs dépens la tribu de Kiir, pourrait être utilisé pour soutenir une administration par l’ONU/UA qui annulerait lesdites mesures.

One interpreter, Mostafa of Egypt, said of his experience volunteering with ICVolunteers “In all honesty, volunteering at the Minorities Fellowship Program exceeded my expectations. It was fun and useful on many levels. Being at the UNOG allowed me to network with different groups and I learned a lot from the sessions of the Programme. It was inspiring to learn that UN offices are working closely with members of minority groups around the world to build their capacities and improve their status. It was also enriching to meet these Fellows in person and learn of their struggles. I would volunteer as an interpreter again and again. Thank you ICVolunteers!”

C’était amusant et instructif à plusieurs niveaux. Le fait d’être à l’UNOG m’a permis de faire du networking avec plusieurs groupes différents et j’ai beaucoup appris au cours des sessions. C’était très encourageant de voir que les Nations Unies travaillent en collaboration avec des membres de communautés minoritaires à travers le monde pour développer leurs capacités et, ainsi, augmenter leur statut politique. C’était aussi enrichissant de rencontrer les représentants minoritaires en personne et d’apprendre leur combats. Je collaborerai volontiers avec ICVolontaires à l’avenir. Merci ICVolontaires!"
