I valori giornalieri e notturni vengono rappresentati separatamente.

Mr. Paul Lucas: I'll try to keep it fairly short. R and D is complex, but it is fairly linear too. The basic science is done in research laboratories all around the world, and it's important to state that pharmaceutical R and D is a global effort. Not all drugs are discovered in a single country. They are discovered in different parts of the world through the efforts of scientists all over the world.

The fish rescue will be conducted using standard sweep electrofishing techniques. The stunned fish would be collected by a technician with a dip net and deposited into collection bins. The fish will be released immediately downstream of the work area. The equipment to be used in the survey is a Smith-Root Model LR-24 backpack electrofisher, powered by a 12-volt battery. The combination of settings (voltage, pulse width and frequency) will be set ...

This project kicked off with excavation. A footprint of a meter deep was excavated and filled up with rocks, to serve as a solid base for the wave barrier and the weirs. For this, we used a cutter dredge pump installed on a long-reach (28m) Hitachi 1200 SLR excavator. After dredging the footprint, the weirs and the wave barrier were created using rocks of between 10 and 1000 kg. These were then covered with rocks of 2 to 10 tons in size. For this, powerful long reach excavators were needed, such as the Hitachi 870 LR GPS with pincers and the Hitachi 1200 SLR GPS with boulder bins.

The mechanisms of resistance in barley to fusarium head blight (FHB), caused by Gibberella zeae are complex. Metabolomics technology was explored to phenotype resistance. Spikelets of barley genotypes with contrasting levels of resistance to FHB, mock inoculated or with the pathogen, were extracted with aqueous methanol and the metabolites were analyzed using liquid chromatography and hybrid mass spectrometry. Peaks were de-convoluted using XCMS and annotated using CAMERA and IntelliXtract bioinformatics tools. A t-test, of a total of 1608 purified peaks, selected 626 metabolites with significant treatment effects, of which 161 were identified as resistance related (RR) metabolites. A total of 53 metabolites, that are RR or pathogenicity related (PR), were assigned with putative compound names. These mainly belonged to three metabolic pathways: fatty acid (jasmonic acid, methyl jasmonate, 9,10- dihydro-isojasmonate, linolenic acid, linoleic acid, traumatic acid), phenylpropanoid (p-coumaric acid, caffeyl alcohol, dimethoxy-4-phenylcoumarin, rosmarinic acid, diphyllin, 5-methoxypodophyllotoxin) and flavonoid (naringenin, catechin, quercetin, and alpinumisoflavone). A few PR/RR metabolites significantly reduced mycelial growth of G. zeae in vitro.

This article describes the humanitarian issues and dilemmas faced by the ICRC in dealing with missing persons. It is argued that full respect of the rules of international humanitarian law is the best way of preventing disappearances and alleviating the concerns of families of relatives unaccounted for. Examples of past ICRC practice are analysed with a view to advocating development and systematisation of ICRC activities in respect of missing persons.
