The house is placed in a low part of the terrain to make closer its proximity to the beach and to get away from the access street and from the neighbours sights.
September 15th, 1938. 3,000 different ceramic items and 800 bricks are placed into the Hoffmann double oven in the so-called 'red factory' on the premises of the Oustau production site. The Oustau company was founded in 1873 in Aureilhan, near Tarbes, by entrepreneur Laurence Oustau. A veritable blend of the industrial and the artistic, all for use in the construction industry: polychrome bricks and tiles, stoneware pipes, faux stone, enamelled architectural decorative details - all these products are visible on the facades of the factories themselves, in the company founder's comfortable residence and more subtly, in the streets of Tarbes. The factory site is a designated listed building and the factory owner's house is now an arts centre. It's a place where any visitor with an enquiring mind can let their imagination run free as they enjoy this heritage trail.
