Located in the Carré Sénart urban development zone, a key site for regional tertiary sector development, on the banks of the Canal du Fil d’Eau and bordered by a plantation of lime trees, this project is characterised by a comb type structure which includes offices, a school of engineering and a hall of residence with 312 bedrooms. From an architectural point of view, the orthogonal layout on the ground as well as the building's positioning and the colours and materials used in the cladding on the façades really allow the project to blend in with its surroundings. The simple sliding volumes create a dynamic overall impression. This complex has applied the BREEAM rating "Good" by respecting environmental procedures, focussing on the quality and impact of building materials and the use of integrated eco-systems since conception, as well energy efficiency.

An apartment with a global soul- that is what the clients brief required. A large open hallway with a grid slab ceiling had to be modulated into four distinct zones to take care of the family needs. A raised teak wood platform that had a piano and a library formed one zone, a dining with a lowered ceiling height made the second, the third was meant for entertainment while the fourth was given to an entry vestibule. The project highlighted these four zones as distinct spaces forming the whole- but all flowing into each other visually and as space.

[12] By-law No. 210, Sch. B, contains the zoning charts for the municipality.  These charts authorize certain uses in each zone.  A party may apply for a permit wherever a particular use is authorized.  Initially, the zoning chart contained no box for “water aerodromes” or “aeronautics”.  The parties to the present appeal agree that in light of this silence, the by-law was interpreted to permit water aerodromes by analogy to other approved uses. The Attorney General of Quebec presents this interpretation in paras. 11 and 39 of its factum.  Moreover, the parties argued this appeal on the basis of their shared understanding that by‑law No. 210 did not prohibit the landing and taking off of hydroplanes at the relevant location and that the amendment brought about by by‑law No. 260[3] was necessary to achieve that result.  This shared understanding is reflected in both their written and oral submissions in this Court.  While the proper interpretation of the provisions is debatable, the parties’ shared understanding of the interpretation is plausible and I do not think the Court should approach the case on a basis that does not reflect that shared understanding on which all of  the submissions of the parties were formulated.

The Hainrode Tunnel was certainly one of the trickiest projects on the new line between Hanover and Würzburg. The tunnel with a total length of 5.3 km was driven in two lots. The lot "HTN" was roughly 2,800 m long with tunnel cross-sections between 120-140 m². The geology mainly comprised variegated sandstone (layers of sand with clay intercalations). The tunnel was lined with a 30-40 cm thick, reinforced in-situ concrete shell. In order to cut down on construction time, an access tunnel was built providing three points of attack for driving. In retrospect, this decision was well worthwhile as considerable geological problems were encountered in the section north of the access tunnel. Ordinary securing measures (reinforced shotcrete, support arches, bolts and lances) did not suffice in this section. Grouting, wells for lowering the groundwater and crown bases were needed. It even turned out to be necessary to drive a fore gallery some 100 m in length. Thanks to the access tunnel, there were no delays in spite of these difficulties, which had unexpectedly cropped up. The main drive towards the south progressed unhampered. In the so-called "Hainrode Fault ", an area known for its pronounced geological disturbances, the groundwater was lowered from the ground surface with wells more than 100 m in depth. To strengthen the extremely disturbed rock in the fault zone, a stronger lining was chosen comprising reinforced support arches, stiffened, two-layer shotcrete reinforcement, 40 cm shotcrete thicknesses, bolting system with 8 m long self-boring grounding anchors. Thanks to these measures, it was possible to complete the tunnelling of the "Hainrode Fault" section on schedule without any unusual incidents. In this section, the inner shell was 60 cm thick.

Einer der schwierigeren Tunnel auf der Neubaustrecke Hannover/ Würzburg, der insgesamt 5,3 km lange Hainrodetunnel-Nord, wurde in zwei Losen aufgefahren. Das Los "HTN" hatte eine Länge von circa 2800 m und Tunnelquerschnitte zwischen 120 m²-140 m². Die zu bewältigende Geologie bestand überwiegend aus Buntsandstein (geschichtete Sand- und Tonsteineinlagen). Die Auskleidung des Tunnels erfolgte durch eine bewehrte, 30-40 cm starke Ortbetoninnenschale. Um Bauzeit einzusparen, ist ein "Fensterstollen" zur Ausführung gekommen, der drei Angriffspunkte für den Vortrieb ermöglichte. Diese Entscheidung hat sich nachträglich doppelt bezahlt gemacht, da im Abschnitt nördlich des Fensterstollens mit beachtlichen geologischen Problemen zu kämpfen war. Die üblichen Sicherungsmaßnahmen (bewehrter Spritzbeton, Ausbaubögen, Anker und Spieße) reichten in diesem Abschnitt nicht aus; es wurden Injektionen, Brunnen zur Absenkung des Grundwassers und Kalottensohlen nötig. Auf circa 100 m musste sogar ein Vorstollen aufgefahren werden. Dank des Fensterstollens kam es trotz dieser überraschend aufgetauchten Schwierigkeiten zu keinen zeitlichen Verzögerungen. Der Hauptvortrieb nach Süden konnte unbehindert weiterlaufen. Im sogenannten "Hainroder Graben", einem vorab bekannten Bereich, der sich durch starke geologische Störungen auszeichnete, wurde von der Geländeoberfläche aus eine Grundwasserabsenkung mit Brunnen von über 100 m Tiefe durchgeführt. Zur Stützung des stark gestörten Gebirges in der Grabenbruchzone wurde ein verstärkter Ausbau gewählt (Verstärkung der Ausbaubögen, verstärkte, doppellagige Spritzbetonbewehrung, Spritzbetonstärken von 40 cm, Systemankerung mit 8 m langen, selbstbohrenden Injektionsankern). Mit diesem verstärkten Ausbau konnte der Bereich "Hainroder Graben" ohne besondere Vorkommnisse termingerecht aufgefahren werden. Die Stärke der Innenschale wurde in diesem Bereich auf 60 cm festgelegt.

Тогава лидерите в същия "нормандски" формат договориха меморандум от девет точки, сред които създаването на 30-километрова буферна зона, забрана на полетите на военни самолети над част от източна Украйна, изтегляне на чуждите наемници от двете страни и др. От тогава досега обаче няма никакъв напредък по изпълнението на споразумението. За разлика от мнозина руският президент Владимир Путин е оптимист. Той вижда 70% вероятност от мирно споразумение, което отново ще включва спиране на огъня, създаване на демилитаризирана зона и изтегляне на тежките оръжия.
