He has made a big impression at a number of competitions, winning first prize at the SWR Junge Opernstars 2018 and at the Das Lied International Song Competition, as well as prizes at the Wigmore Hall Song Competition, the Hugo Wolf Competition, the Young Concert Artists Auditions in New York, the Concours international Nadia et Lili Boulanger in Paris, and the Bundeswettbewerb Gesang in Berlin.

Le jeune baryton allemand Samuel Hasselhorn a étudié aux conservatoires de Hanovre et Paris, et travaille à présent avec Patricia McCaffrey à New York. Il s’est distingué lors de nombreuses compétitions, en remportant le Premier Prix au concours SWR Junge Opernstars 2018 et au Das Lied International Song Competition, et des prix au Wigmore Hall Song Competition, le Hugo Wolf Competition, les Young Concert Artists Auditions à New York, le Concours international Nadia et Lili Boulanger à Paris et le Bundeswettbewerb Gesang à Berlin. En concert et en récital, il a notamment chanté au Ravinia Music Festival, au Marlboro Festival, au Carnegie Hall, à Notre-Dame de Paris, et au Gewandhaus de Leipzig. Il s’est également produit sur la scène des opéras de Lyon et Leipzig. Son premier CD Nachtblicke, reprenant des Lieder de Schubert, Pfitzner et Reimann, est sorti en 2014.
