More specifically, this concerns Annex VI to the 1973 International Convention for the Prevention of Pollution from Ships (the MARPOL Convention), and three maritime conventions on the protection of the seas, i.e., the 2001 International Convention on Civil Liability for Bunker Oil Pollution Damage; the 2004 International Convention for the Control and Management of Ships’ Ballast Water and Sediments; and the 2011 International Convention on the Control of Harmful Anti-fouling Systems on Ships (the AFS Convention).

Im Detail handelt es sich um Anlage VI zum Internationalen Übereinkommen von 1973 zur Verhütung der Meeresverschmutzung durch Schiffe (MARPOL-Übereinkommen) und drei Seeschifffahrtsübereinkommen im Bereich des Gewässerschutzes. Es sind dies das Internationale Übereinkommen von 2001 über die zivilrechtliche Haftung für Schäden durch Bunkerölverschmutzung, das Internationale Übereinkommen von 2004 zur Überwachung und Behandlung von Ballastwasser und Sedimenten von Schiffen und das Internationale Übereinkommen von 2001 zur Beschränkung des Einsatzes schädlicher Bewuchsschutzsysteme auf Schiffen (AFS-Übereinkommen).

Si tratta dell'allegato VI alla convenzione internazionale del 1973 per la prevenzione dell’inquinamento causato da navi (convenzione MARPOL) e di tre convenzioni marittime riguardanti la protezione delle acque, in particolare della convenzione internazionale del 2001 sulla responsabilità civile per i danni derivanti dall'inquinamento determinato dal carburante delle navi, della convenzione internazionale del 2004 per il controllo e la gestione delle acque di zavorra e dei sedimenti delle navi e della convenzione internazionale del 2001 sul controllo dei sistemi antivegetativi nocivi sulle navi (convenzione AFS).
