Členy komise byli odborníci na numismatiku, umělci, bývalá členka Evropské komise (Christine Scrivener), poslanci, ředitel Francouzské mincovny Emanuel Constans, rytec Pierre Rodier, herečka Irene Jacob a zástupci dalších odborných orgánů.
Ce jury était composé d'experts en numismatique, d'artistes, d'un ex-Commissaire européen (Christine Scrivener), de membres du Parlement, du directeur des Monnaies (Emmanuel Constans), du graveur Pierre Rodier, de représentants d'associations professionnelles et de l'actrice Irène Jacob. Leur choix s'est porté sur les dessins suivants :

Panelet bestod af eksperter i numismatik, kunstnere, et tidligere medlem af Europa-Kommissionen (Christine Scrivener), franske parlamentsmedlemmer, møntdirektør Emmanuel Constans, chefgravør Pierre Rodier, skuespilleren Irène Jacob samt repræsentanter for faglige sammenslutninger. De valgte følgende design:
Monety 1 € i 2 €: na monetach figuruje zaprojektowany przez artystę Joaquima Jimineza wizerunek drzewa symbolizującego życie, ciągłość i wzrost. Drzewo wpisane jest w sześciokąt i otoczone hasłem Republiki: „Liberté, Egalité, Fraternité" (wolność, równość, braterstwo).
Monedele de 1 EUR şi 2 EUR: motivul copacului, simbolizând viaţa, continuitatea şi creşterea, este o creaţie a artistului Joaquim Jimenez. Copacul este încadrat într-un hexagon, fiind înconjurat de mottoul republicii, „Liberté, Egalité, Fraternité” (Libertate, egalitate, fraternitate). Pe marginea monedei de 2 EUR, apare inscripţia „2**”, repetată de şase ori, orientată alternativ de jos în sus şi de sus în jos.
