Erbyn diwedd y dydd roedden ni wedi glanhau rhan o'r siâp-L, gan ddod o hyd i haen o glai llwyd dan bridd yr aradr. Y cam nesaf fydd edrych ar yr ardal o gwmpas y cerrig i weld ai dyma weddillion wal y lloc mewn gwirionedd.
By the end of the day we had cleaned a part of this L-shape, finding a grey clay layer beneath the ploughsoil. Next we'll be looking at the area around the stones to see if they really are the remains of the enclosure wall. "

Codwyd Capel Siloam ym 1838, a hynny'n ôl pob tebyg o ganlyniad i'r mewnlifiad o weithwyr i Bwll Glo newydd neu Lefel Glai Porthmawr (oherwydd y clai tân a gynhyrchid o'r pwll) ac oherwydd ehangu'r gwaith brics lleol tua'r amser hwn.
Siloam Chapel was built in 1838 probably as a result of the influx of workers to the newly opened Porthmawr Colliery or Clay Level (because of the fireclay produced from the mine) and the expansion of the local brickworks at about this time.

Mae fy agwedd tuag at fy ngwaith wedi dod yn fwy sensitif o’r hyn yr ydw i’n ei wneud a pham yr ydw i’n ei wneud. O ganlyniad, rydw i’n defnyddio deunyddiau lleol – yn glai, mwynau, ocsidau a lludw pren – yn fy slipiau a’m gwydredd.
My attitude towards my work has become more sensitive to what I am doing and why I am doing it. As a consequence, I utilise locally sourced clays, minerals, oxides and wood ash in my slips and glazes. Salt glaze seems to emphasise and complement the somewhat unpredictable nature of these ‘as dug’ materials.

Bydd dilyn llwybr Arfordir Treftadaeth Morgannwg yn siŵr o ysgafnu’ch troed yn sŵn y tonnau’n torri ar y traeth a’r graean yn crensian dan draed. Fe welwch y cyfan ar ôl i chi gamu i lawr y grisiau at Fae Tresilian; sylwch sut mae’r garreg galch Lias a’r garreg glai wedi erydu a chreu ogofâu fel Ogof Reynard.
Walking the Glamorgan Heritage Coast is enough to put a spring in your step, with the waters lapping the shore and the shingle cracking beneath your feet. See it up close as you follow the steps down into Tresilian Bay; notice how the Lias Limestone and Shales have eroded the cliffs to create caves such as Reynard’s Cave. Cliffs can be dangerous places so keep an eye on the kids and make sure that dogs are on a short lead. Watch out for the warning signs.

Arweiniodd yr iaith hon sy’n archwilio themâu cyffredin yn arfer cerfluniol Ford, i Davies ac Youll wthio’r ffiniau rhwng arferion artistig, ac ymchwilio artistiaid sy'n defnyddio a’n cyfeirio at glai mewn amryw o ffyrdd.
The notion of place and placement conceived collectively by Davies and Youll, highlights important associations in the field of ceramics concerning location, geography, ritual, commemoration and the souvenir. Each artist-curator was drawn immediately to the work of Laura Ford who uses the ceramic ornament as a means to connect with audiences. This language exploring common themes in Ford’s sculptural practice led Davies and Youll to push borders between artistic practices and to research artists who use and reference clay in a multitude of ways.

Mae Cruisers Talysarn wedi bod yn brysur iawn yn y cefndir ers ennill y cais i gael Parc Sglefrio ar ran o safle’r Gloddfa Glai yn 2003. Gyda help arian Partneriaeth Talysarn a Nantlle, Mantell Gwynedd a Chyngor Celfyddydau Cymru trwy Cywaith Cymru yng Nghaerdydd, mi fydd cynllun i greu ardal lliwgar drwy beintio’r rampiau du gyda chynlluniau creadigol a thraddodiadol yn cael ei wireddu’n fuan iawn.
Cruisers Talysarn have been very busy, albeit in the background since winning the application for the construction of the Communities First funded Skatepark on part of the Gloddfa Glai site in 2003. With funding from the Talysarn and Nantlle Partnership, Mantell Gwynedd and the Welsh Arts Council through Cywaith Cymru in Cardiff, a scheme to create a colourful attraction with both creative and traditional paint schemes on the current black ramps will come to fruition very soon. A residential artist will be employed to work with, teach and oversee the Cruisers’ schemes and drawings before an exhibition for the local residents prior to applying them to the Skatepark ramps.
