  socha sv. Kryštofa - Kr...
Na podstavci uprostřed je latinský nápis Kéž by Onen nás, zmítané v moři věků dovedl k přístavu spásy. jejž jsi jako podivuhodné dítě přenesl vlnami. O to tě, nebeský patrone odvážných plavců, prosí měšťané pražští.
The sandstone statue was created by Emanuel Max in 1857 and donated by Prague magistrate Václav Vaněk, a nobleman from Rodlov (1798–1872). The statue replaced a sentry-box of the local garrison that, during a flood of 1784, fell into the river together with soldiers. The statue portrays St. Christopher carrying a blessing Christ, who changed into a child, on his shoulder. On the pedestal, there is the Latin inscription May He whom you carried as the miraculous child through waves lead those who are being tossed in the sea of centuries to the haven of salvation. This is the prayer of the citizens of Prague to you, the heavenly patron of courageous sailors. – Originally, a statue of Emperor Charles IV made by Matyáš Bernard Braun and donated by Count František Antonín von Sporck (1662-1738) was supposed to be put there; however, due to the disapproval of vice-regents and the lack of interest of the emperor, the statue, although already made, never became a part of the gallery of the bridge (later on it was taken to the Laxenburg Castle by Vienna).

The sandstone statuary was created by Matěj Václav Jäckel in 1708 and donated by the Convent of the Dominican Order by the Church of St. Giles in the Prague Old Town. In the center, there is the Virgin Mary with baby Jesus above the earth with clouds. The Virign Mary is giving prayer beads to St. Dominic, the founder of the Dominican Order, kneeling on the left side of the pedestal and surrounded with his attributes (an abbatial infula, a head cover, and a dog with a burning torch in his mouth, the emblem of the order). On the right, there is the creator of the scholastic philosophy, St. Thomas Aquinas, with his attributes – a book, quill, chain with a shining Sun and angel holding a beehive. There are several Latin inscriptions on the statuary: For the glory of Jesus and Mary: 1708 (below the statue of the Virgin Mary), You wrote well (inside the book in Thomas’ hand), Mind the congregation that has been yours since the beginning (in the middle of the pedestal), To the teacher St. Thomas Aquinas: 1708 and I was appointed teacher and preacher of faith and truth (on the right of the pedestal), To the founder, St. Dominic: 1708 and We profess the crucified Christ, who disgraced all Jews (on the left of the pedestal) and Erected by the Preachers: 1708 (in the stylobate of the pedestal). The original of the statuary is now in the Lapidarium of the National Museum; the copy on the bridge was made by V. Bartůněk and S. Hanzl in 1958-61.
