Riolagundo is an ideal starting point for hikes, e.g. to the Monte S. Vigilio via the Bischofskofel mountain, to the alpine pastures of Naturno and the “Siebenbrunner Wald” (Fountain Forest) back to Riolagundo. Also the black hill moor lake “Schwarze Lake“ can be reached on foot from the village, the path to this natural sight from time to time reveals views on the Val d’Adige.

Aschbach bietet zahlreiche Wandermöglichkeiten, von hier gelangt man z.B. über den Bischofskofel zum Vigiljoch, zur Naturnser Alm und durch den Siebenbrunner Wald zurück nach Aschbach. Ebenfalls vom Dorf aus erreichbar ist die “Schwarze Lake”, ein schwarzer Hochmoor-See - der Weg dorthin eröffnet immer wieder den Blick auf das Etschtal. Auch Plaus und Saring sind wandernd erreichbar. Die wohl bekannteste Veranstaltung in Aschbach ist der Berglauf Algund - Aschbach.

Il borgo offre una vasta gamma di sentieri escursionistici, da consigliare è soprattutto l’escursione al Monte S. Vigilio via il monte Bischofskofel, attraverso la Malga di Naturno e il Bosco delle Fontane. Altrettanto raggiungibile da Riolagundo è il laghetto nero “Schwarze Lake“, il sentiero che porta a questo sito naturale offre delle splendide viste sulla Val d’Adige. Anche Plaus e Saring sono raggiungibili a piedi. La manifestazione sportiva più importante è la corsa di montagna Lagundo - Riolagundo.
