“This project was initially conceptualised by me and by Professor Eduardo Silva of INESC TEC. We are very pleased with the positive results of this first test phase, from which we can highlight the fact that we managed to overcome civil problems and have good access to the Lee Moor pit, that we increased the differentiation capacity of minerals, that we increased the processing of data almost in real-time and provided good quality images to pilots, or the fact that the integrated control systems worked well”, says Stef Kapusniak, technical coordinator of the iVAMOS! project and person responsible for the project at SMD, who will be in Porto during the 15th and 16th of November to participate in the Strongmar - Um Mar de Tecnologia conference.

“Este projeto foi originalmente conceptualizado por mim e pelo Professor Eduardo Silva do INESC TEC. Estamos muito satisfeitos com os resultados positivos desta primeira fase de testes, onde podemos destacar pontos, tais como o facto de termos conseguido superar os problemas civis e ter tido bom acesso ao poço em Lee Moor, de termos aumentado a capacidade de diferenciação dos minerais, aumentado o processamento de dados quase em tempo real e fornecer boas imagens aos pilotos ou o facto dos sistemas de controle integrado terem funcionaram bem”, refere Stef Kapusniak, coordenador técnico do projeto iVAMOS! e responsável pelo projeto na SMD, que vai estar na cidade do Porto nos dias 15 e 16 de novembro para participar na conferência Strongmar - Um Mar de Tecnologia.
