De Berlijnse SPD zou op haar congres cannabis zelfs tot thema kunnen kiezen voor de komende verkiezingen door voor een motie van een partijlid uit het district Mitte te stemmen. Ook de FDP is in mei wat betreft cannabis een knuffelkoers ingeslagen toen bijna twee derde van de afgevaardigden op het nationale partijcongres in Berlijn voor gereguleerde cannabisverstrekking pleitte.

The Berlin branch of the SPD, the Social Democrats, could put cannabis on the agenda for the upcoming elections if they adopt a resolution to that effect by a party member from the Berlin central district at their upcoming party conference. The FPD, the Liberal Democrats, have cuddled up to cannabis as well, as two-thirds of the delegates at their Berlin party conference called for the regulation of cannabis distribution. The establishment of some sort of a coffee shop model is moving forward as well, albeit slowly. The past few weeks, even the Christian Democrats of the CDU in Berlin seemed to be telling a different story through Joachim Pfeiffer, the spokesman for economic affairs in the national parliament, the Bundestag. Together with Dieter Janecek from the Grünen (green party), he demanded cannabis regulation:

S’il adopte une proposition des membres du quartier de Mitte (Centre), le SPD berlinois pourrait même, lors de son congrès régional, faire du cannabis un thème de campagne électorale pour les prochaines élections. Le FDP s’est également rallié à la cause du chanvre, lorsque près des deux tiers des délégués présents au congrès berlinois du parti ont plaidé pour une délivrance réglementée du cannabis. Idem pour le projet pilote de coffee-shop ; même si elles vont lentement, les choses avancent. Même le CDU a laissé entendre un tout nouveau son de cloche ces dernières semaines à Berlin, à travers les propos de son porte-parole en charge de la politique économique au Bundestag, Joachim Pfeiffer. Mit dem Coffeeshop-Modellversuch geht es, wenn auch langsam, ebenso voran. Selbst aus der CDU konnte man aus Berlin in den letzten Wochen ganz neue Töne vom wirtschaftspolitischen Sprecher im Bundestag, Joachim Pfeiffer, hören. Er forderte zusammen mit dem Grünen Dieter Janecek eine Regulierung von Cannabis:

El FPD, los demócratas liberales, también se han acercado al cannabis, ya que dos tercios de los delegados presentes en la conferencia del partido de Berlín pidieron la regulación de la distribución de cannabis. La creación de una especie de modelo de coffeeshop también avanza, aunque lentamente. Las últimas semanas, incluso los democristianos de la CDU en Berlín parecían estar contando una historia diferente a través de Joachim Pfeiffer, el portavoz de Asuntos Económicos en el parlamento nacional, el Bundestag.
