Rīgas Juridiskā augstskola (RJA) iepazīšanās vakarā ar potenciālajiem studentiem, kurā piedalījās gandrīz 80 interesenti, izlozēja vienu apmaksātu maģistrantūras studiju vietu 2009./2010. mācību gadā, kuru ieguva rīdziniece Marta Ošleja. Tas ir pirmais laimests gan augstskolas vēsturē, gan M.Ošlejas dzīvē.
At the Open Day event of Riga Graduate School of Law (RGSL) , which was attended by nearly 80 potential students, there was drawn one lot of free master studies for 2009/2010. The prize was awarded to Marta Osleja. This is the first prize for both, the school and for Marta Osleja.

„Šis mācību gads augstskolas vēsturē iezīmēsies ar pirmo tik lielo ārzemju studentu īpatsvaru - vairāk nekā 40% no atpazīstamākajā programmā - Starptautiskās tiesības un Eiropas tiesības studējošajiem bija ārvalstu studenti,” atzīmē Mārtiņš Mits, Rīgas Juridiskās augstskolas prorektors.
On the 3rd of July the Riga Graduate School (RGSL) for the first time celebrated not only the graduation of the International and European Law programme but also graduate the first students from the new master's programmes that were accredited on 2008 - "Law and Finance” and “Legal Linguistics". "This academic year will be recorded in the School‘s history as one with the largest proportion of foreign students - more than 40% of class were foreign students within our main and most known programme - International and European Law " says Martins Mits, Riga Graduate School Pro-rector.

Šī ir pirmā šāda līmeņa iniciatīva Latvijas vēsturē, kad atzīti starptautisko un Eiropas tiesību akadēmiķi un praktiķi ir tiek aicināti sniegt savu redzējumu par diskutējamiem starptautiskajiem procesiem un jautājumiem.
The main tasks of International Law Advisory Council would be to provide the Ministry of Foreign Affairs with the consultative expert opinions on conceptual and problematic international and European law issues. This is the first initiative of this level in the history of Latvia, when recognized academics and practitioners of international and European law have been invited to provide their views on disputed international processes and issues. The establishment of this International Law Advisory Council on permanent basis will encourage strengthening and development of analysis of international legal system in Latvia, as well as raise the name of Latvia in international relations at a new level.

Nozīmīgs notikums skolas vēsturē bija arī Eiropas Cilvēktiesību tiesas priekšsēdētāja Žana Pola Kostas publiskā lekcija RJA „Eiropas Cilvēktiesību konvencijas un Eiropas Savienības tiesību savstarpējās attiecības”, kurā, par spīti pastāvošajai kritikai, izskanēja optimistisks viedoklis par divu Eiropas tiesu sadarbību cilvēktiesību jomā nākotnē.
This school year was highlighted by the atmosphere of RGSL’s 10 year anniversary events. A book "The European Union and the rule of law: Experience of Latvia” was issued for the anniversary in which recognized Latvian and foreign specialists analyze Latvia's membership in the EU from legislative and policy perspectives. An important event in the history of the school was also the public lecture "The Relationship between the European Convention on Human Rights and European Union Law" delivered by the President of the European Court of Human Rights Jean Paul Costa in which despite existing criticism an optimistic view on the cooperation of these two European courts in the field of human rights in future was voiced.

„Šajā mācību gadā pirmo reizi augstskolas vēsturē tika vērots būtisks ārzemju studentu īpatsvara pieaugums - šogad RJA diplomus saņems studenti no Latvijas, Baltkrievijas, Gruzijas, Kirgizstānas, Moldovas, Turcijas un Vācijas.
RGSL is increasingly becoming a true European academic establishment. "This academic year is the first time in the RGSL’s history with such a substantial increase in the share of foreign students - the diplomas this year will be received by students from Latvia, Belarus, Georgia, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Turkey and Germany. All our programmes are taught in English. Also next year as well we expect growth in the number of foreign students. This trend is related to the high evaluation of education obtained in the RGSL which our alumni bring back to their countries of origin and career opportunities which are open for our alumni - they have become highly valued employees with the most prestigious employers in Latvia and abroad, "says Martins Mits.
