The Secretary General of the Organization of American States, José Miguel Insulza, reiterated that the organization he heads will continue to work in the areas of institutionalization and strengthening of democracy in the Caribbean country that was struck by an earthquake in January, in a speech during the “World Summit on the Future of Haiti: Solidarity beyond the Crisis,” held June 1 and 2 in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, with the participation of, among others, the President of the Republic of Haiti, René Préval, and former President of the United States of America and United States Special Envoy to Haiti, Bill Clinton.

El Secretario General de la Organización de los Estados Americanos (OEA), José Miguel Insulza, reiteró que la organización que lidera continuará trabajando en las áreas institucionales y de fortalecimiento democrático en el país caribeño que fue azotado por un sismo el pasado mes de enero, en un discurso pronunciado durante la "Cumbre Mundial sobre el Futuro de Haití: Solidaridad más allá de la crisis”, que se realizó del 1 al 2 de junio en Punta Cana, República Dominicana con la asistencia, entre otros, del Presidente de la República de Haití, René Préval y el ex Presidente de los Estados Unidos de América y Enviado Especial de las Naciones Unidas para Haití, Bill Clinton.
