Tres parts, per a una explicació simbòlica de purificació: pecat a la vall als peus de l'edifici, una cripta pesada i fortificada amb arcs bizantins, símbols terrenals, un temple gòtic àgil, purificat, ordenat, polit, senzill i, per sobre, més pur encara, el coure de la imatge del Sagrat Cor amb els braços oberts com a pont entre el cel i la terra.

These three parts symbolise purification: the sin of the world below is symbolised at the foot of the building, the heavy and fortified crypt, with its Byzantine arches, symbolise the earth, and above it the Gothic temple, pure, simple, polished, with clean lines, and purer still, the image of the Sacred Heart with Christ's open arms a bridge between heaven and earth. In the crypt's facade are many details. At the top of its arches are images of the four evangelists: the lion, the ox, the angel, and the eagle.

Tres partes, para una explicación simbólica de purificación: pecado en el valle a los pies del edificio; una cripta pesada y fortificada con arcos bizantinos, símbolos terrenales; un templo gótico ágil, purificado, ordenado, pulido, sencillo y, por encima, más puro aún, el cobre de la imagen del Sagrado Corazón con los brazos abiertos como puente entre el cielo y la tierra. En la fachada de la cripta veremos muchos detalles. Nos podemos fijar en los capiteles de los arcos, que son las imágenes de los cuatro evangelistas: león, el buey, el ángel y el águila.
