José Gouveia completed in 2015 the Integrated Master Degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering at FEUP, specializing in energy systems. From the work developed during its master thesis he has won a honorable mention in the PREMIO REN 2016. Since joining INESC TEC in May 2015, he has been involved in scientific projects and consulting in the area of integration of renewable sources in the electrical system as well as in the dynamic analysis of electrical systems.

João Saraiva é um dos fundadores da pretigiada escola verão GTTSE - Grand Timely Topics in Software Engineering (inicialmente designada Generative and Transformational Techniques in Software Engineering), que co-organizou em 2005, 2007, 2009, 2011, and 2015 (volumes 4143, 5235, 6491, and 7680 of LNCS - Tutorial by Springer-Verlag) em Braga. Ele foi o organizador principal ETAPS'07, The European Joint Conferences on Theory and Practice of Software, em Braga em 2007, e um membro do seu comité científico (2007-2012).
João Saraiva is one of the founders of the successful series of summer schools on Generative and Transformational Techniques in Software Engineering (GTTSE), which he co-organized in 2005, 2007, 2009, 2011, and 2015 (volumes 4143, 5235, 6491, and 7680 of LNCS - Tutorial by Springer-Verlag) in Braga. He was the organizing chair of ETAPS'07, The European Joint Conferences on Theory and Practice of Software, organized in Braga in 2007, and a member of its scientific committee (2007-2012).

Este modelo foi depois materializado num sistema de recomendação que tinha de ser compatível com a plataforma desenvolvida pela Porto Editora, para que a sua equipa pudesse integrá-lo de forma funcional. O sistema de recomendação consistia numa componente de software autónoma relativamente ao EV, interagindo com ele através de serviços web.
In this project, the INESC TEC team developed/identified/validated a learning objects recommendation system based on available information. This model was then materialised in a recommender system which had to be compatible with the platform developed by Porto Editora so that their team were able to integrate it functionally. The recommender system was an autonomous software component relatively to the EV, interacting with it via web services.

Dennis has received the Bachelor´s degree in Informatic Engineer, at UTAD in June 2016. Since September 2016, he is currently taking the Master´s Degree in Informatic Engineer at UTAD. He participates since September 2016 in the project NanoSTIMA RL2 - Passus Mobile, responsible for developing a system that makes exercise supervision of people with peripheral arterial disease.

André Gomes completed his master degree in Engineering Physics at the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Porto, Porto, Portugal. He is currently a PhD student in physics, also at the University of Porto. From March to July 2016, he was with the Leibniz Institute of Photonic Technology, in Jena, Germany, with a DAAD scholarship. At the moment, he is with the Center of Applied Photonics at INESC TEC. His research interests include optical fiber sensing, micro and nanofibers, Focused Ion Beam technology and microfiber knot resonators.

É actualmente Professor Catedrático no Departamento de Engenharia Informática (DEI) da Faculdade de Engenharia da Universidade do Porto (FEUP) e investigador sénior no INESC TEC.
João M. P. Cardoso received his PhD degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the IST/UTL (Technical University of Lisbon), Lisbon, Portugal in 2001. He is currently Full Professor at the Department of Informatics Eng., Faculty of Eng. of the University of Porto, Porto, Portugal, and a research member of INESC TEC. Before, he was with the IST/UTL (2006-2008), a senior researcher at INESC-ID (2001-2009), and with the University of Algarve (1993-2006). In 2001/2002, he worked for PACT XPP Technologies, Inc., Munich, Germany. He has been involved in the organization and served as a Program Committee member for many international conferences. For example, he was general Co-Chair of IEEE/IFIP EUC’2015 and IEEE CSE’2015, General Chair of FPL’2013, General Co-Chair of ARC’2014 and ARC’2006, Program Co-Chair of ARCS’2016, DASIP’2014, and RAW’2010. He has (co-)authored over 150 scientific publications on subjects related to compilers, embedded systems, and reconfigurable computing. He has coordinated a number of research projects. He is a senior member of IEEE, a member of IEEE Computer Society, and a senior member of ACM. His research interests include compilation techniques, domain-specific languages, reconfigurable computing, application-specific architectures, and high-performance computing with a particular emphasis in embedded computing.

Henrique M. Salgado graduated in Applied Physics (Optics and Electronics) from the University of Porto in 1985 and received the PhD degree in Electronic Engineering and Computer Systems from University of Wales in 1993. He joined the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computers of the University of Porto in 1999 as an Invited Assistant Professor and in 2003 he became Associate Professor. Since 1995 that he heads the Optical and Electronics Area of INESC TEC, begin responsible for several national and internationally funded (EU) research projects. From 1997-1999 he was Research Fellow at the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering of the University College London, UK and previously Research Assistant at the School of Electronic Engineering and Computer Systems, Bangor, UK. He is the author and co-author of numerous international publications in the field of optical fibre communications and microwaves. His current research interests include: radio-over-fiber technology and microwave photonics, digital equalization in coherent optical systems, all-optical networks, modeling of nonlinearities and design of compact multiband antennas. João Teixeira was born in Porto, Portugal, in 1991. He received his M.Sc. in Electrical and Computers Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering of University of Porto, Portugal, in 2014. In 2014, he started his Ph.D. studies at Faculty of Sciences, University of Porto, Portugal, under the joint program in Informatics (MAP-i). No decurso da sua carreira profisional, esteve envolvido em diversos projectos de investigação e desenvolvimento, em conjunto com parceiros publicos e privados, tendo representado a UTAD em diversas ocasiões, tais como, membro eleito do Conselho Geral da UTAD, entre 2009 e 2012, e vogal executivo da direção da European Information Systems Association(EUNIS), de 2009 a 2014.
Arsénio Reis (M) is an Informatics Specialist at the University of Trás-os-Montes e Alto Douro (UTAD). He earned a doctorate by UTAD in 2015, and in 2016 was admitted as researcher at the INESC-TEC CSIG research center. From 2006 to 2009, he served as Informatics Technical Coordinator, and from 2009 to 2014, he served as Director of the Informatics and Communications Services at UTAD. In 2007, he completed the Diploma of Specialization in Information Society and Innovation in Public Administration (DESIIAP), at the National Administration Institute (INA), and in 2009 he completed the Course of High Management of Public Administration (CADAP), at INA. During his career, he has been deeply involved in research and development projects, together with private and public partners, having represented UTAD in several occasions, such as, elected member of the UTAD’s General Council, from 2009 to 2012, and member of the executive committee of the European Information Systems Association (EUNIS), from 2009 to 2014. His main research interests have for long being in the areas of Information Systems and Software Engineering, and more recently, in the areas of Accessibly, Human Computer Interaction, and eHealth. He produced more than 40 academic papers, including book chapters, articles and communications in conference proceedings and participated in the organization of scientific meetings of various international and national nature, whith emphasizes on the organization of the EUNIS Congress in 2012 (www.eunis.pt) at UTAD.
