Finally, I am sending you some photos of the day on which I went to collect my bike, one the happiest days of my life for sure!

After studying for eight years in a school in the Pyrenees, I went to live in Madrid with the idea of studying law. I ended up studying aeronautical engineering. That’s life! I think very few people know what they want to be when they’re “grown up” from when they are very young.

I had a bad start on Sunday, but I knew that the race would be long so I tried not to get too nervous. The temperature of the asphalt went up a lot in comparison to the previous sessions. I knew it could be difficult, and indeed it was as you all saw.
To give you a better idea of what I mean, I’m going to tell you an anecdote. My brother is a biker, and when he found out we were going to be a part of the Repsol Team, he said to me, “That’s amazing! You’re in with the best, they’re the best MotoGP team and all the riders want to race for them!” That was when I really realised what an amazing opportunity it would be to work shoulder to shoulder with Repsol. Time has confirmed this for me.
After all, we weren’t really sure at the beginning of the year. For example, the Sierra Morena Rally in Cordoba in April was really difficult for me. I was really nervous. When we finished, Cristian said to me, “Oh dear, I don’t think that went too well.” But then, when we saw our times, we couldn’t believe it! We had the best time.
My name is Érica and I was the lucky winner of the first POLE REPSOL GP. The prize, as those of you who entered will know, was a trip to the Spanish Grand Prix. I’d like to start by thanking the Repsol Team for giving us the opportunity to get to know the world championship in such a special way. It is a memory that I will never forget.

To be honest the victory was never in the bag until the very end, even though looking from the outside it might have seemed quite different. It is true that things seemed to go very well from the first day; the test sessions last month gave us some good information and right from the off I felt comfortable on the bike. But in a race everything can change very quickly and I began to have a lot of problems with the front tyre. As soon as I crossed the finishing-line I was able to breathe a sigh of relief and little by little I began to realise that I had just won my first race in MotoGP!
Watching those young people grow and evolve and how they take on our work and effort culture is the most passionate thing about my job. I was a rider, more specifically a SuperSport rider. I made the jump to the Monlau structure, with Emilio Alzamora, and shared a garage with Marc Márquez. When the SuperSport class was eliminated from the CEV, Emilio offered me the opportunity to work with him, in this new job and I gladly accepted, with much excitement. I couldn’t be happier to have been given this opportunity.

He is one of the students from the first offer of the Master’s in Engineering at the Repsol Monlau School. Gonzalo finished his studies in Motorcycle Design Engineering in 2009 and immediately began to look for a Master’s program that would help him further his knowledge and open doors to the labour market. He found the answer in a newspaper advertisement. The School had just got started: “I was the first person who phoned to ask for information. I had finished my studies at the University of Kingston (England) and my dream was to get started in the world of competition. The truth is, I saw the advertisement purely by chance”.
