Doch kurz zurück zur Stadtpfarrkirche. Denn wer sich hier einer schmalen Gasse, der ehemaligen Postgasse, zuwendet, findet sich nur allzubald vor dem zweiten Meraner Stadttor wieder, dem Bozner Tor. Von hier aus empfiehlt sich ein gemütlicher Spaziergang entlang der Meraner Kurpromenade.

We recommend you to make a pleasant walk along the Merano Cure Promenade, taking past gorgeous historical buildings such as the most prominent of all buildings, the Kurhaus. Enlarged in 1874 by the Viennese architect Friedrich Ohmann, the Kurhaus represents a masterpiece of art nouveau building in the entire alpine area.

Ma ritornando un attimo sulla Piazza del Duomo. Da qui, seguendo la stretta via “Postgasse”, si trova infine alla seconda porta meranese, alla cosiddetta “Porta Bolzano”. Da qui consigliamo una tranquilla passeggiata lungo la riva del fiume Passirio, passando al famoso Kurhaus o alla gola “Gilfschlucht”. Il Kurhaus è stato costruito nel 1874,. dopodiché l’architetto viennese Friedrich Ohmann lo ampliò. Oggi questa costruzione conta tra i più belli edifici in stile liberty o floreale nell’intera zona alpina.
