Education will be accomplished, most simply, through their deliveries. By making deliveries by bicycle, the cyclists are demonstrating to the public the potential to use bicycles to replace cars and trucks for both personal and business applications, thereby contributing to cleaning Toronto's air. The volunteers will also use the deliveries as an opportunity to speak directly to clients about sustainable transportation issues and approaches. Volunteers will provide educational material which will include information on upcoming workshops and directions to their informative website. Their workshops and website will also be publicized to the larger public through service hubs and community partners. In addition, a toolkit will be created, allowing other organizations to emulate the Bike Roots project. Creative and intelligent marketing, promotion and fundraising, in addition to continued partnership building, will establish Bike Roots as a visible and important member of the community. The net effect will be wider use of sustainable transport approaches and further reductions in green house gas emissions.
