After the end of the Civil War, Manuel Cortés, a former mayor of the town of Mijas in the province of Malaga, had no chance to escape from Spain. After a long and dangerous journey, he managed to get home at night without being discovered. His wife, Juliana, warned him of the numerous firing squads that were taking place in the village. So, they decided to open a small hole in the wall where Manuel could hide. Manuel Cortés could never have imagined that this small space behind the wall would become his personal prison for 30 years. This is the story of the so-called post-war moles who had to sacrifice an entire lifetime to escape repression.

Synopsis: In early 1992, a little Swiss girl learns that her cousin was killed in Croatia. The cousin, a young Swiss journalist was involved in the civil war in former Yugoslavia. When his body was found, he was wearing the uniform of an international mercenary force. Years later his cousin Anja Kofmel decides to make a film about the background of this story using her skills as an animator, therefore combining real filmed documentary sequences with animation.

The Arcadian atmosphere of a hazy underworld hosts unusual characters: an Illusionist, a Civil Entity, a Wooden Puppet and a silent, but dangerous Swordsmen. Their mysterious experiences are an allegory of the relationship between the now extinct tradition of European combat swordsmanship and the doctrine of pragmatic political action. Is the end of the allegory also a beginning of an instructive misunderstanding? The film is inspired by the motifs from the books Flower of Battle (1410) by Fiore dei Liberi and A Dialogue in Hell between Machiavelli and Montesquieu (1864) by Maurice Joly.

My name is Nika Vundać. I am 12. I live in Rijeka and attend the 5th grade of Škurinje Elementary School. I practice volleyball and hip-hop and also in my school I attend the reciting and librarian group. In my free time I like to hang out with friends, design, dance, write essays and take pictures of myself. I spent this spring break at a multimedia workshop where we learned about photography, filmmaking and journalism. The popular 78-part series about the two handymen using any possible and impossible tools and construction gadgets first appeared in a 1976 short film entitled Kuťáci(The Tinkers). Later, the characters appeared in more shorts, making their own TV series called ...A je to!(...And it's done!). They were named Pat and Mat in 1989, and this became the name of the show. Lubomír Beneš (1935-1995) studied drawing, painting and writing, and began working in animation in the late 1950s in the Animation Studios of Krátký Film Praha. In 1967 he realized his first film, Homo in Jiří Trnka Studio, and since he directed over a hundred shorts, mostly puppet animation.

Obično dizajniram likove i crtam prizore potpuno neopterećen radnjom. U tom djelu se fokusiram na likovnost, na grafički stil. Snimanje filmova je pomalo kao da gradite kuću, postoje skice, pa nacrti po kojima onda građevinari postavljaju konstrukciju.

I wrote the screenplay, but we discussed each segment in detail. I designed the characters and then I drew the layouts for all the scenes. From this point on, many steps must be taken to reach the final visual result. The construction of the visual world and creating the backgrounds – it is all computer-generated these days, in contrast to on paper as it used to be before. We spent hours and hours in front of the monitor, and now it would be really hard to say which idea is mine and which is Olga’s. The same applies to the editing. We went through every stage together. From the draft of the screenplay to the final version of the film it took us two and a half years and the production itself lasted for a year and eight months.
