Das Gestein ist von einer mittelkörnigen Struktur und einer Schiefertextur charakterisiert. Obwohl seine Farbe GRÜN ist, kommt Verde Spluga manchmal mit Teilen weisses Quarzes vor, die es auch leuchtender machen.
