Gidaren azken zenbaki hau egiteko, haur eta gazte literaturarekin lotutako 14 lagunek hartu dute parte, tartean, liburuzainak, eskoletako irakasleak eta fakultateko adituak. Gidaren hitzaurrean dioten moduan, 2017ko gida "talde baten lan jarraituaren eta liburu askoren irakurketaren emaitza da. Guraso, irakasle eta bibliotekarientzat lagungarri izan nahi du".

A total of 14 people involved children’s and young people’s literature took part in the creation of this latest edition of the guide, including librarians, school teachers, and members of the Faculty. As stated in the Foreword, the 2017 guide “is the fruit of the sustained effort of the group, which must read many books. It should be of great assistance to parents, teachers, and librarians.” Regarding the evaluation process, they say, “From a general list, books are first classified as recommendable or highly recommendable. A review is included for each book in the latter category.”
