Based on the data by Turkish Statistical Institute (TSI), 22 thousand 830 houses were sold to foreigners in 2015 and more than half of those sales were made to the citizens of Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Russia, and England. Prof. Dr. Yetkiner, who commented about TSI data said, “Turkey sold 12 thousand 181 houses to foreigners in 2013, 18 thousand 959 in 2014, and 22 thousand 830 houses last year. Fortune is the sum of savings of a consumer. And property makes up an important share of the consumer’s fortune. One of the latest trends, in a globalizing world where the gross household income is constantly increasing, is the demand to own a property in different parts of the world.”
