Okolice placu Dominikańskiego to szczególne miejsce na mapie miasta, które w wyniku licznych wyburzeń i przebudów utraciło dawny spójny charakter. Podstawowym wyzwaniem projektowym była rewitalizacja tego fragmentu Wrocławia w postaci projektu realizującego uzupełnienie zabudowy śródmiejskiej w kwartale ulic: Piotra Skargi, Wierzbowej i Oławskiej we Wrocławiu, z klarownym wytworzeniem zwartej kubatury w układzie kwartałowym posiadającym sprecyzowane ciągłe linie zabudowy oraz wewnętrzne otwarte dla przechodniów dziedzińce wypełnione funkcjami generującymi życie w mieście.

DOMINIKAŃSKI- architecture which combines history and modernity Dominikański square is a special place on the map of the city which - as a result of numerous demolitions and reconstructions – has lost its former coherent character. The primary design challenge was to revitalize this part of Wrocław in the form of a project which would  complete the downtown quarter of: Piotra Skargi St., Wierzbowa St. and Oławska St. keeping a clear form of compact, quarter development of continuous building lines and internal, open to passers-by courtyards filled with functions that generate city ​​life.

Stowarzyszenie stoi na stanowisku, że najlepszym sposobem osiągania celu jest konkurs. Mam zatem nadzieję, że w ślad za ogłoszonym konkursem na plac Piłsudskiego uda się wyznaczyć podobne miejsca na mapie Wrocławia i zastosować zbliżoną technikę.

Acupuncture, the festival’s main theme, refers to activation of places important to the local community as well as actions which aim at restoration of places by bringing on their former shape or creating a new one. In the association it’s believed that the best way of achieving aims is by organizing a contest. I therefore hope that, in the wake of the announced competition for development of Piłsudski Square, it will possible to appoint other sites on the map of Wrocław and apply a similar technique. Such action must be preceded by a deep recognition of the needs of residents. The residents must also be present themselves. In an organized or unorganized form, their expectations related to a specific space, its shape and content, have to be expressed.
