V luči zadnjih dogajanj je postalo jasno, da Evropska Unija ni garant demokracije, miru in človekovih pravic, kar je bila sicer podoba, ki je bila kot model napredka prodajana post-avtoritarnim državam na jugu in vzhodu Evropa.

In the light of recent developments, it has become apparent to everyone that the EU is not the guarantor of democracy, peace, and human rights that was sold to the post-authoritarian countries of the East and South as a model of progress. The crisis has also brutally uncovered the dangers of having the EU as the privileged horizon of our political desires. This poses the challenge to orientate ourselves towards new alliances and solidarities within, against and beyond the EU, as well as new institutions and notions of rights.

In Anbetracht der gegenwärtigen Entwicklungen haben wir festgestellt, dass die Europäische Union nicht die Vorbotin von Demokratie, Frieden und Menschenrechten und auch nicht das Fortschrittsmodell ist, als das sie den post-autoritären Ländern des Ostens und Südens verkauft wurde. Die heutige Krise hat auch sichtbar gemacht, wie gefährlich es sein kann, die EU zum einzigen Horizont unserer politischen Vorstellungen zu machen. Dadurch ergibt sich eine neue Herausforderung, uns in Richtung neuer Allianzen und neuer Solidarität innerhalb der EU, gegen sie und jenseits ihrer Grenzen zu orientieren, sowie auch in Richtung neuer Institutionen und Rechtsbegriffe.

A la luz de los acontecimientos recientes, resulta evidente para cualquiera que la Unión Europea no garantiza ni la democracia ni los derechos, mucho menos los derechos humanos. La seguridad de todo ello fue sin embargo la fórmula que sirvió para vender a los paises postautoritarios un futuro modelo de progreso europeo. Entre las muchas cosas que esta crisis está destruyendo, se encuentra también la posibilidad de situar a la actual Unión Europea en el horizonte en nuestros deseos políticos. El reto es sin duda orientarnos hacia nuevas alianzas y solidaridades dentro, contra y mas allá de la Union Europea, generando nuevas instituciones y nociones de derechos.

Astăzi suntem martorii la două procese deosebit de violente de tranziție în Grecia și Ucraina. Trebuie să înfruntăm aceste procese direct, fără a lăsa șantajul financiar sau militarizarea să creeze un climat de frică în Estul Europei sau țările PIIGS. Violența necesară pentru a integra un teritoriu în capitalismul neoliberal a funcționat adesea ca mijloc de distrugere a capacității acestui teritoriu de a se retrage din procesul de integrare și de a-l face ireversibil. Ce putem învăța despre această dinamică din experiențele europene estice și sudice?
