The large, wooden planters are products of SD Garden Design located in Peterborough, Cambridgeshire. The wooden planks create a pleasing effect of horizontal lines, and the differing heights of the planters further this horizontal effect, at the same time creating the illusion that the planters are stacked.

Here we see a wonderful example of garden design for a terrace, a project completed by Welchome Design. In a balcony or terrace space, pots and planters are, obviously, essential to creating a garden. Here, the designers have chosen to go with large, black rectangular pieces, certainly not what we normally expect to see in a garden. The result is a tastefully modern garden, perfect for an urban apartment space.
