Este barco navega hacia la orilla en donde deja a la tripulación y cuando necesita regresar, el LCVP se mueve hacia atrás y el artefacto de impulso succiona la arena y piedras hacia el agua. Estas piedras golpean el artefacto, causando la ruptura de piezas pequeñas.

Questa barca approda per far uscire i soldati, e quando deve tornare indietro il LCVP si muove indietro e il rotore risucchia sabbia e rocce oltre all'acqua. Queste rocce colpiscono l’elica, con conseguenti danni.

또 다른 예는 상륙함(Landing Craft Vehicle Personnel)의 임펠러를 수리하는 프로젝트입니다. 이 선박은 해병을 상륙시킬 때 해안에 반 정도 걸쳐 있으며, 다시 돌아 가야 할 때 상륙함이 뒤로 움직이고 임펠러는 물 이외에 모래와 바위를 빨아들입니다. 이 암석들이 임펠러에 충돌하여 작은 조각들로 부서지는 결과를 낳습니다.

Еще один пример – проект, в котором специалистам из Marinebedrijf Koninklijke Marine необходимо было восстановить гребной винт-импеллер десантного катера. Такой катер при высадке пехотинцев наполовину корпуса заходит на берег, и когда он дает задний ход, импеллер втягивает со дна песок и мелкие камни. Они ударяются о винт, приводя к множественным сколам лопастей.
