The Zenith of Nantes Métropole is situated in the middle of a vast hedged farmland landscape, at the heart of a vast green area. Its oval fluid shape welcomes the spectators from all four directions. Screens emerge from its silhouette, with the tallest indicates the entrance. They house the concert hall’s natural ventilation shafts. This building, which is not part of an urban composition, is anchored by its slightly conic shape. A mineral ring comprised of the forecourt and the technical area extends along the perimeter of the venue.

The poly-lobed shape of the Zénith de Saint-Denis is due to an undulation in the plan, amplified by the simultaneous movement of the upper and lower edges of the roof-façade. Its inflections create a space adapted to the concert hall, enclosing the fan-shaped seating and offering further seating space in the axis of the hall. The bulging in the façade also serves to increase the volume of the hall and to accommodate the annexes. During the day, the aluminium surface of the façades reflects the colours of the sky. At night, the Zénith lights up with a play on colours that, in conjunction with its open-to-the-sky shape, works to evoke the image of an incandescent crater, which makes the venue stand out in the landscape.

This building stands at the front tip of the new Ilot d'Armagnac situated in a district under development near the Saint-Jean station in Bordeaux. The general shape of the building is derived from the complex lay of the plot. The addition of a supplementary fold puts the plot division to use to establish a formal system. The partial set-backs reduce the cast shadow of the building on the garden side and regulate the transition with the neighboring apartment buildings. The vertical breaks, several stories high, enliven the facade and echo the fragmentation in blocks of the neighboring constructions.
