The degree programme is focused on social development activities, where social and pedagogical knowledge are essential. The student gains in-depth knowledge of circumstances and processes in late modern society that affect people’s living conditions and their participation. Operational strategies to develop and identify problems, develop resources and change living conditions through e.g. social mobilisation, empowerment and preventative and supportive change are focal points. Within the framework of the Master degree thesis the student has the option to profile their studies according to their own field of interest, e.g. children, youth and families, adults in and outside employment, elderly and care. The degree thesis is focused on development issues anchored in specific problems in the practical activities within the social field.
