Flexibility was a key design consideration because of the interaction between an after-school care centre and the playground organisation. The zoning is clearly functional with a personnel zone, a circulation/foyer zone and a play zone.

Étant donné la collaboration entre l'accueil extrascolaire et l'organisation des plaines de jeux, la flexibilité est essentielle dans le projet. Une répartition des zones fonctionnelles a été clairement établie : zone du personnel, circulation/foyer et zone ludique. Le foyer équipé d'un chauffage par le sol sert de maillon entre les différentes fonctions. La zone ludique comprend 3 grandes pièces de jeu accessibles séparément depuis le foyer. Le local de jeu central peut être relié à l'un ou l'autre groupe d'animation. Chaque grande pièce de jeu donne sur le grand jardin orienté au sud qui, par sa forme, fait office de prolongement des espaces de vie.

The historical value of the manor ‘De Mot’ is retained.The many additional and extensions of the existing administrative centre will be demolished and replaced by a new building.The two buildings, the manor and the new building, will stand in dialogue with each other.The manor is on the sight line and will be reserved for ceremonial functions and exhibitions.The administrative functions and the library with a reading patio will be housed in the new building.The new building will also provide all the functions that a modern administrative centre requires: service desk functions, offices for municipal services (in the form of individual desks and open workplaces), an alderman’s chamber and a multifunctional council chamber, an entrance zone, a classroom, archive space, technical rooms, etc.

Le château historique précieux ‘De Mot’ sera sauvegardé. Les nombreuses extensions et annexes du centre administratif existant seront démolies et remplacées par une nouvelle construction. Un dialogue s'installe entre les deux bâtiments, le château et la nouvelle construction. Le château se situe dans l’axe visuel et sera réservé aux fonctions cérémonielles et aux expositions. Les fonctions administratives et la bibliothèque avec le patio de lecture seront implantées dans le nouveau bâtiment. Celui-ci abritera aussi toutes les fonctions qu’exige un centre administratif moderne : guichets, bureaux réservés aux services communaux (sous la forme de bureaux séparés et de postes de travail ouverts), une salle dédiée aux échevins, une salle du conseil à caractère multifonctionnel, une zone d’accès, une salle de cours, des archives, des locaux techniques…
