Još na jednom mjestu Apostol govori o provjeravanju karizmi, ali opet pod sasvim drugim vidom, naime s obzirom na njihovu korist za izgradnju zajednice (1 Sol 5,21; usp. 1 Kor 14). Što pojedini darovi više doprinose izgradnji i učvršćenju zajednice, to je sigurnije da su plod Duha, a ako razaraju zajedništvo, mogu biti samo plod Zloga.

May I be permitted to express my own opinion about that. It has grown out of the experience of these seventeen years of Medjugorje, theological reflection, and prayer. During this time, the words of Jesus about the sword have often crossed my mind: "I did not come to bring peace, but the sword" (Mt 10:34). The way to real peace leads through a decision for Jesus. That decision does not tolerate any compromise. He is more important even than the closest family members and especially more so than any personal interests. On the way to real peace with oneself, one's neighbour, and with God one must go through numerous trials which Jesus metaphorically characterizes as a sword. Does not this word of Jesus refer also to Medjugorje and its position in the local Church?

An einer anderen Stelle spricht der Apostel von der Unterscheidung der Gaben. Der Gesichtspunkt hier ist die Nützlichkeit für den Aufbau der Gemeinde (1.Thess.5.19-21; 1Kor.14). Je mehr diese Gaben zum Aufbau und zur Stärkung der Kirche beitragen, desto mehr ist es sicher, daß sie Früchte des Geistes sind. Wenn sie allerdings die Einheit zerstören, kommen sie vom Bösen. Offensichtlich ist nur die Rede von einer wirklichen Gemeinschaft im Glauben und in der Liebe, und nicht von irgendeiner Ideologie. Deshalb kann der heilige Paulus an einer anderen Stelle sagen: "Denn es muß ja wohl Spaltungen unter euch geben, damit die Erprobten unter euch erkennbar werden" (1.Kor11.19). Ist dies nicht die Erklärung des Wortes Jesu: "Glaubt ihr, daß ich gekommen bin, um Frieden auf die Erde zu bringen? Nein, sage ich euch, sondern Spaltung" (Lk.12.51). Gefragt ist eine vollkommene Hingabe an Jesus, die immer von einigen abgelehnt wird.

W jeszcze jednym miejscu Apostoł mówi o sprawdzaniu charyzm, ale znowu pod innym kątem, mianowicie pod względem ich korzyści w budowaniu wspólnoty (I Tes. 5, 21; por. I Kor. 14). Im poszczególne dary mocniej wpływają na budowanie wspólnoty - tym jest pewniejsze, źe są owocem Ducha, a jeźeli rozbijają wspólnotę mogą być tylko owocem Zła. Oczywiście chodzi tu tylko o prawdziwą wspólnotę wiary i miłości. Dlatego tenźe Paweł moźe powiedzieć w innym miejscu: "Zreszt, musz nawet być rozdwojenia między wami, aby wyszło na jaw, którzy wśród was są prawdziwymi chrześcijanami" (I Kor. 11, 19).
