Fifteen girls took part in three fun filled days finding out about opportunities to study Space and Engineering at University. With thanks to experts at Cardiff University and the National Museum Cardiff on the first day, they were able to handle meteorites, find out why stars explode and answer why in Space, red is cold and blue is hot! The second day took place at the University of South Wales, team working was the focus, working together to safely parachute an egg; visiting the University’s engineering rooms, where they tried their hand at riveting metal panels together and they designed, built and launch their own rocket. The final day was a trip to @Bristol the UK’s only 3D Planetarium where they saw the galaxy and beyond come to life in front of their eyes.
